Vienna
Start with a private guided tour of Schönbrunn Palace where you'll walk through the opulent rococo rooms and see the crystal chandeliers alongside the formal gardens with a local expert. After that, the afternoon takes you through Vienna's main sights like St. Charles' Church, Hofburg Palace, Parliament, and the State Opera House.

Vienna to Salzburg
You'll drive through the Austrian countryside toward Salzburg, stopping first at Melk Abbey and then at the Basilica St. Michael in Mondsee, which was used as a filming location for The Sound of Music.

Salzburg
Your local expert will guide you through Salzburg starting with the Mirabell Palace gardens and Residenzplatz before heading to the fortress and cathedral in the Old Town. You'll visit Mozart's birthplace to see a pianoforte demonstration along with his letters and personal items, then enjoy farm-to-table dining that evening.

A boat takes you across Lake Chiemsee to Herrenchiemsee Palace, King Ludwig II's most ambitious palace built to rival Versailles, followed by a visit to Fraueninsel where an 8th-century Benedictine convent stands. By coach you'll reach Munich later, wrapping up the day with traditional Bavarian food and beer at a local hall.

Munich to Innsbruck
You'll see Neuschwanstein Castle, King Ludwig II's decorated retreat with its lavish apartments and courtyards (subject to availability), then continue to Oberammergau to view the Passion Play theatre and the village's characteristic painted chalets. The day ends with a drive to Innsbruck, nestled in Alpine peaks, where you can select from various dinner restaurants.

The iconic Glacier Express train carries you through ice-capped mountains, stone villages and meadows, ascending through the Albula Pass spiral tunnels and crossing the Landwasser Viaduct before descending into the Oberalp Valley. By coach afterward you'll travel through the Schöllenen Gorge to Lucerne where you'll see the Lion Monument.

Then you'll head to Stans for a seasonal juice tasting at a former Capuchin monastery before taking a funicular and cable car up to Stanserhorn's summit. Dinner comes with sparkling wine at the rotating Drehrestaurant Rondorama.
