Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding

    You'll get picked up early from your hotel and fly from Kathmandu to Lukla with views of the Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest. Once you land, you'll meet your local Sherpas and start trekking through pine and cedar forests alongside the Dudh Kosi River for about 4 hours until reaching Phakding, where you'll spend your first night in a mountain tea house.

  2. Day 2

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    After breakfast, trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar over 5-6 hours. The route crosses the Dudh Kosi River and winds up the Khumbu valley through Monjo and Jorsalle before getting steeper after the Hillary Bridge, climbing through blue pine forest. By the time you reach Namche Bazaar, you'll have your first real ground-level view of Mt. Everest, and it's your last chance to test gear and check out the local nightlife before heading higher.

    Namche Bazaar

    Today is an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, but you don't just rest. Instead, take a short hike to Everest View Resort or Thame, or wander around Khunde and explore the town market. Stop by the Tourist Visitor Center near Sagarmatha National Park headquarters to see artifacts from the first Everest climbers, learn about Sherpa culture, and find out about the local plants and wildlife.

  4. Day 4

    Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche in about 4-5 hours through rhododendron forests, passing mani walls and Chorten stupas along the way. You'll get close views of Thamserku, Kantega, and Ama-Dablam, with distant Mt. Everest and Lhotse visible too. Grab lunch at Phunge Thanka, cross a suspension bridge, then climb steeply for roughly 1.5 hours to reach Tengboche, where you can visit the largest monastery in the region and catch evening prayer ceremonies.

    Tengboche to Dingboche

    If you want, join the optional morning ceremony at Tengboche Monastery, then have breakfast with views. Trek downward through rhododendron forest to Deboche and cross an exciting bridge over the Imja Khola before climbing gradually through Pangboche and Somare village where you'll stop for lunch. The route then becomes slower and flatter along the valley wall and across wide plains until you reach Dingboche.

    Dingboche to Labuche

    After breakfast, start your first major push from Dingboche toward Pheritse village, trekking through an alpine valley with views of Ama-Dablam, Lhotse, Phortse Peak, and Cholatse. Reach Dughla where you can rest or eat lunch, then keep climbing toward Labuche through the Khumbu Glacier's terminal moraine for about 1 hour to the top. At the summit, you'll see stone monuments for climbers who didn't return, plus views of Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Labuche Peak.

    Labuche to Mt. Everest Base Camp

    Head to Mt. Everest Base Camp by passing through the vast Gorak-Shep area, passing memorials for Indian army mountaineers along the way. Pay close attention to your guide since the path gets confusing at this altitude. You'll cross rocky dunes, moraine, and streams while managing the thin air. From Base Camp, see Khumbutse, Nuptse, and Pumori against gray surroundings, with Mt. Everest dominating the view. Then head back to Gorak-Shep for the night.

After you get your photos, head back down to Gorak-Shep for breakfast. Then catch a scenic helicopter flight back to Lukla with views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Your final day in Lukla includes rest, good food, local sightseeing, and a farewell dinner celebrating your trek with the team.

    I recently completed the Annapurna Circuit trek with Sherpa Expedition, guided by Ramesh, and I can’t recommend them enough!     We recently completed the Manaslu Circuit Trek with Sherpa Expedition and Trekking, and it was truly one of the best experiences of our lives! Our guide Dawa Sherpa was incredible – he may be small in size, but he has a huge heart! So kind, attentive, and always looking out for us every single step of the way. He even helped carry our backpack on the challenging Larke La Pass day – we will never forget that! Our porter Hari was also wonderful – always smiling and so supportive throughout the trek. Together, they made us feel safe, cared for, and completely at ease in the mountains. The teahouses they arranged for us were excellent – clean, comfortable, and with delicious food. Everything was so well organized from start to finish. We didn’t have to worry about anything – just enjoy the stunning scenery and the journey. We highly recommend Sherpa Expedition and Trekking to anyone planning a trek in Nepal. Thank you Dawa, Hari, and the entire team for such a memorable adventure. We hope to trek with you again soon!

    Trekking to Everest Base Camp was the adventure of a lifetime, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Sherpa Travel Agency. My guide, Frunzi, was incredibly kind, attentive, and supportive—always adjusting the pace to suit me and making sure I was safe and well every step of the way. Together with Bala, our strong and cheerful porter, they helped me reach the base camp successfully and with confidence. The agency provided the best possible accommodations in the mountains, with great vegetarian meal options throughout the trek. Ram, the agency owner, stayed in constant contact and generously offered high-quality gear (sleeping bag, poles, and down jacket) free of charge. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and I wholeheartedly recommend this tour for anyone taking on this incredible journey.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before January 18th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 18th, 2026, a minimum payment of 50% is required to confirm your booking with Sherpa Expedition Teams. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
