Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi to Vu Linh
An 8:00 AM pickup from Hanoi gets your motorbike journey started. You'll ride northeast along the Red River dike road for roughly 2 hours, passing through villages and rice fields that line the route. The ride continues on mountain roads through busier towns as you head toward Vu Linh village. You should arrive around 4:00 PM at this Dzao settlement near Thac Ba lake. Depending on weather and how much daylight remains, there's a chance to get out on the water by boat and see the area from a different angle.

Vu Linh to Pac Ngoi
After eating breakfast with your Dzao family hosts, the motorbike takes you deeper into North Vietnam's highlands through jungle and winding mountain roads. You'll pass through Tan Trao district, which holds historical significance in the region. Lunch happens in Cho Chu town before the road continues toward Ba Be lake, Vietnam's largest natural freshwater lake. You arrive at Pac Ngoi village and spend about 1.5 hours exploring by boat. The day ends with an overnight stay with the Tay people and dinner shared with your hosts.

Pac Ngoi to Hanoi
Starting early helps you get back to Hanoi before the afternoon traffic kicks in. Rather than taking main highways, the route sticks to smaller scenic roads even if it adds time to the journey, which keeps things safer and more relaxed. You'll roll into Hanoi around 5:00 PM, bringing your North Vietnam motorbike tour to a close.
