Itinerary
- Day 1
Ashgabat
You'll arrive in Ashgabat and connect with your guide and driver for a private transfer to your hotel. After settling in, the day focuses on the capital's key sites. Head out to see the Parthian Fortresses of Nisa, then move through the grand Turkmenbashy Ruhy Mosque and the National History Museum. Independence Park gives you space to walk around before checking out the Wedding Palace Viewpoint. Alem Center has the world's largest indoor Ferris Wheel if you want to take a ride. Finish by learning about the city's 1948 earthquake at the memorial complex.

- Day 2
Ashgabat to Mary
You'll drive to Mary, which takes about 4 hours, stopping along the way to see the Seyit Jemaleddin Mosque Ruin and Ancient Abiverd remains. Once you reach Mary, spend time at the State Historical and Cultural Park of Ancient Merv where there are walled cities, mausoleums, towers, and the Great Kyz Kala fortress to explore. Later, check out the Pokrovskaya Orthodox Church and the Gurbanguly Hajji Mosque with its golden dome. The local bazaar is worth a walk through before you head back to your hotel for the night.

Mary to Ashgabat to Darvaza
After breakfast, you'll fly back to Ashgabat in about 40 minutes. Visit the Ertugrul Gazi Mosque, which has a grand blue dome, and then head to the Akhal-Teke horse stable to meet the treasured Turkmen horses. In the afternoon, a 4WD vehicle takes you roughly 4 hours to the Darvaza Gas Crater, stopping at the Mud and Water craters on the way. You'll have a BBQ dinner as the sun sets and sleep overnight in a traditional yurt.

- Day 4
Darvaza to Dashoguz
Wake early to see the eternal flame in the morning light. After breakfast, you'll travel by road for about 4 hours to Dashoguz. At Kunya Urgench Historical Park, walk through remains of caravansaries, mosques, minarets, and mausoleums, including the 14th-century Turabek Khanum Mausoleum with its calendar design and the 13th-century Sultan Tekesh Mausoleum. By evening, you'll check into your hotel in downtown Dashoguz.

- Day 5
Dashoguz to Turkmenbashi
You'll head to the airport for a 1-hour flight to Turkmenbashi. From there, go to the Awaza Resort on the east coast of the Caspian Sea. Check out the fish bazaar to see the region's different fish species, then visit the seaport, which is Turkmenistan's largest port on the Caspian Sea. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to spend however you'd like.

Turkmenbashi to Yangykala Canyon
You'll drive to Yangykala Canyon, roughly 3.5 hours away, and stop at the Gozli Ata Mausoleum, a pilgrim site. The canyon itself has sharp, dramatic scenery. A guided hike takes you up to clifftop viewpoints where you can see the dried seabed with coral remnants and fossils. Grab a picnic lunch and visit multiple spots to watch how the light changes the canyon's appearance throughout the day. You'll return to Turkmenbashi by evening.

Turkmenbashi to Ashgabat
Travel to the airport and fly back to Ashgabat. Once there, go to the Turkmen Carpet Museum to see the intricate carpet-weaving art. Head over to Inspiration Park next, which connects two main streets and has an artificial waterfall and flower beds. Finish at Gulistan Bazaar, also called the Russian Bazaar, which has Soviet-era architecture and sells vegetables, meat, dairy, and clothing. Return to your hotel afterward.
