A busy week with an exceptional and personable guide. Mike Brown did all he could to make our experience in yellowstone and the grand tetons a lifetime experience. We were very happy, if exhausted by the tour.

If there is any way to know estimated return time to Las Vegas on the trip that would be very helpful.

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten August 2023

There is a restroom with running water at the campgrounds. Composting toilets are at most trailheads. Guides will carry a trowel/toilet paper kit for on-trail. I wouldn't count on electricity or charging outlets. I advise people to bring a portable phone charger like a GoalZero Flip 24.

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten August 2023

We normally drop folks back off in Vegas by 5pm, although an exact time can't be guaranteed in case of unforeseen weather, trail, or traffic conditions. Most people book a hotel for this night and then worry about traveling the following day.

I would like to book but had another question regarding the running water at the restroom. Is there a shower or just a sink?

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten August 2023

There is not a shower facility directly at the Furnace Creek campground. Guides will facilitate at least one group transport to shower/pool facility which is located at the Ranch (1 mile from Furnace Creek Campground) and/or to the Stovepipe Wells pool. Guides will do everything they can to facilitate daily showers, but depending on group hiking speed and day's logistics, guests may need to walk to and/or from the Furnace Creek Campground to the pool at the Ranch (1 mile one-way).
