Smashing tour to see the historic features of Scotland. Excellent opportunity to explore without the pressure of timetables and too many people. Just a small group of 12 and Ed was the best guide. Great knowledge of history and took us to amazing places. Isle of Skye and Isle of Mull the highlights. Well priced.

Wow! What a tour! Richard (tour leader) and Abby (driver) are possibly the the two most awesome Scot’s in the world! Thorough knowledge and willingness to find information was an absolute measure of Richard’s skill and experience as a guide! He was perfect as a guide, showing humour, kindness and preparedness to go above and beyond our expectations! Abby was the most confident and courteous driver I have ever experienced. Calm when dealing with tourist

A very comprehensive tour of World War 1 western front battlefield sites and cemeteries with an emphasis on the ANZAC involvement led by a very knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the tour with the highlight of course being the dawn service at the Australian War memorial at Villers Bretonneux. If any improvements were to be made more time could have been spent explaining what we were going to see while on the bus travelling to a site rather than explaining the same when we got to a site would have meant less time standing around listening at the site and more time to explore the site. Also at times it felt like we were driving around in circles. The hotel accommodation except at Amiens was good. The hotel at Amiens was charitably speaking very average although the location was excellent.

We are in the process of planning a trip to visit Scotland this July or August 2023. On the Isle of Mull, we would like to see the area of Lochbuie. We have tracked down our ancestry in that area, and it is one of the most important areas that we want to visit. We are looking for someone to take us to that area and tour us around with compensation of course. Would you be able to accommodate us with this? We would need transportation to and from on the day. Very eager to hear back from you.

We do visit the Isle of Mull on our Scottish Journey itineraries, however we are unable to offer personalised tours with transport. Our Trip Leaders do try to accommodate requests to see specific locations however I don't think we could squeeze all of the below into our 2 days on the Isle of Mull. If you are interested in booking A Scottish Journey, we are mostly sold out for July & August except for our 1 August departure which has some seats remaining.

How strict is your age limit? Two of us are over 80 (82 & 84). We are three sisters, traveling together. One (84 years old) requires her own room. Do you have two-bedroom suites? Or adjoining rooms? Is this a non-smoking tour?

This tour involves a medium level of walking and would require a medium level of fitness. If your husband is unable to partake in some of the walking tours, there may not be an alternative to what he does. When you make a booking, we will require a Self-Assessment Form to be completed on your online Back Roads account. After the form is filled out, our operations team can assess if you husband would be fit for this tour.

We don't have the Hotels confirmed for this trip just yet unfortunately, but they are typically suited to the area you are staying in, and they are selected so that they are not typical or popular hotels. We will have the hotels confirmed a bit closer to the departure date
