Itinerary
- Day 1
Las Vegas to Hurricane
You'll arrive in Las Vegas and head to the Strat Hotel lobby by 4pm to meet your tour group. From there, a minibus takes you on a 140-mile drive through the desert heading toward Hurricane, Utah. This is your base for the next few days while you explore the Zion National Park area. The drive covers some beautiful terrain, so settle in and get ready for what's ahead.

- Day 2
Zion National Park
Start early and drive to Zion National Park to check out Zion Canyon. Your tour leader will walk through hiking options for different fitness levels, from the moderate Watchman's Trail (about 2 hours) to the challenging Scout's Lookout hike (roughly 4 hours). If you'd rather take it easy, the park shuttle bus works too. Later in the day, you'll head toward Bryce Canyon, driving through Buffalo and Mt Carmel Junction along the way.

Bryce Canyon
Wake up early to catch sunrise at Sunrise Point in Bryce Canyon. You'll spend the day exploring the unique sandstone hoodoos and the natural amphitheatre. Pick between the Navajo Loop or Queen's Garden trail to walk among the pink, orange, and red spires. Both let you see this landscape up close, just at different paces and distances.

Capitol Reef to Moab
Head west toward Moab on State Highway 24, stopping to see the colored sandstone cliffs, canyons, and spires at Capitol Reef National Park. By evening you'll reach Arches National Park for a sunset hike to Delicate Arch, that iconic 20-metre tall arch. After the hike, stay for stargazing before heading back to Moab for the night.

- Day 5
Arches and Canyonlands National Parks
Start the morning exploring Arches National Park with a hike through Devil's Garden (about 3 hours) where you'll see over 2000 natural sandstone arches including Landscape Arch. If you want more, the Windows Loop is an optional extra (roughly 1.5 hours). In the afternoon, drive to Canyonlands National Park's Island in the Sky district for an easy trail to Mesa Arch with panoramic views. You'll return to Moab this evening.

Moab to Kayenta and Monument Valley
This morning gives you downtime in Moab. There's an optional hike to Fisher Towers if you're interested (7 kilometres, about 4 hours). During the afternoon, you'll drive to Kayenta on the Navajo Reservation and then head into Monument Valley where massive monoliths and sandstone pinnacles rise up to 1000 metres above the desert floor. You'll settle in here for tomorrow's eclipse viewing.

- Day 7
Annular Solar Eclipse at Monument Valley
On October 14th, 2023, you'll experience an annular solar eclipse at Monument Valley. A jeep with a Navajo guide takes you into the park's remote backcountry for viewing. Around 10:29am you'll see about 4 minutes and 27 seconds of annularity (weather dependent). Eclipse glasses are provided and an expert astronomer walks you through it all. After that, continue through native lands toward Page and stop at Horseshoe Bend overlook on the Colorado River.

- Day 8
Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell to Grand Canyon
You get to choose between visiting Antelope Canyon with its peach-gold walls carved by flash floods, or spending time at Lake Powell with its azure waters. Later you'll head to the southern rim of the Grand Canyon, arriving this afternoon. Check out the views from Desert View looking across the 445-kilometre expanse of this natural wonder.

- Day 9
Grand Canyon to Las Vegas
Spend the morning at the Grand Canyon on your own schedule. Hike sections of the rim trail with different viewpoints, or tackle the Bright Angel Trail if you want a steeper descent below the rim. Walking options fit various fitness levels. Late afternoon you'll depart for Las Vegas, pulling in around 8pm.

Las Vegas
Your tour ends after breakfast at your Las Vegas hotel. There are no planned activities, so you're free to leave whenever you're ready.
