Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo to Chilaw
You'll land at Colombo International Airport and get transferred north to your beachfront resort in Chilaw. After settling in, the afternoon and evening are free for you to relax and get comfortable at the hotel.
- Day 2
Chilaw to Anuradhapura
Head north toward Anuradhapura, stopping for a jeep safari in Wilpattu National Park where you might catch sight of elephants, leopards, spotted deer, sloth bears, and wild pigs. Once you reach Anuradhapura in the afternoon, you'll see the sacred bo-tree, the Brazen Palace with its 1600 columns, and the Ruwanweliseya dagoba, an important historical site.

Anuradhapura to Jaffna
Transfer to Anuradhapura Railway Station for a three-hour scenic train ride to Jaffna on the northernmost peninsula. During the journey, you'll see shallow lagoons and salt pans before arriving at your hotel in Jaffna.

- Day 4
Jaffna
After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour around Jaffna. You'll check out the star-shaped Jaffna Fort built by the Dutch in 1619, visit the Nallur Hindu Temple, one of Sri Lanka's most significant Hindu worship sites, and see Nagadeepa Buddhist Temple where Buddha reportedly came during his second visit to the island.

Jaffna to Trincomalee
Day 5 involves traveling south to Trincomalee on the northeastern coast, a historic center of Tamil culture overlooking Kottiyar Bay. You'll have the rest of the afternoon free after checking in. Day 6 starts with a sightseeing tour visiting Thirukonamalai Konesar Temple, the Hot Water Wells, the Temple of the Thousand Pillars, and the Dakshina-Then Kailasam temple complex. The afternoon is yours to spend relaxing on the beach.

Trincomalee to Passekudah
Travel down the east coast to Passekudah, stopping to visit Seruwavila, an ancient Buddhist temple along the way. Passekudah has miles of white sandy beach with clear, shallow waters. After you check in, spend the rest of the day at leisure enjoying the beach and sunshine.

Passekudah to Sigiriya to Negombo
Head west to Sigiriya to see the famous Lion Rock fortress, a 200-meter-high citadel built over 1500 years ago in the jungle. You can view the well-known paintings of the Heavenly Maidens and climb to the summit for views across the landscape. From there, drive to Negombo, a relaxed coastal town just north of Colombo, where you'll stay your final night.
