Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll land in Kathmandu and get settled into your hotel. A company representative meets you at check-in to go over the details of the Langtang Circuit Trek and what to expect over the next couple of weeks.

- Day 2
Kathmandu
Spend the day exploring Kathmandu with a licensed local guide in an air-conditioned car. You'll visit four UNESCO World Heritage sites: Swayambhu, a Buddhist stupa perched on a hilltop; Boudhnath, another significant stupa; Pashupatinath, the holiest Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva where cremation ceremonies take place; and Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you can see the residence of the living goddess Kumari. This tour gets you away from the main tourist crowds and into the real culture of the city.

Kathmandu to Syapru Bensi
Today you travel from Kathmandu toward Langtang. You can either take a bus for about 8 hours or opt for a jeep via the Nepal-China border road, which cuts the drive to around 4 hours. Both routes wind through river valleys with views of the water and surrounding hills. As you get closer to Syapru Bensi, snowcapped peaks including Langtang Lirung come into view above the winding, steep roads.

Syapru Bensi to Lama Hotel
Your trek starts at Syapru and heads to Lama Hotel, a 6-hour walk. The terrain varies as you go alongside the river, moving through villages and open landscapes. You'll stay at locally-run tea houses where you pick meals from their menus. A guide leads the way while a porter handles your main bag, so you only carry a small daypack with what you need for the day.

Lama Hotel to Ghoda Tabela
From Lama Hotel, trek through jungle for 6 hours to Ghoda Tabela, crossing the river once along the way. Your guide shares how the area changed after the earthquake and the avalanche that hit Langtang years back. Langtang Lirung at 7,205 meters fills much of the view ahead as you walk through the thickening forest.

Ghoda Tabela to Kyanjin
The 4-hour walk to Kyanjin village stays mostly flat with some gradual climbing. You're at 3,900 meters now, and the tree line has opened up, giving you 360-degree views of the mountains around you. Wind coming down from the glaciers picks up as you climb, so dress in layers you can adjust.

- Day 7
Acclimatization Hike
Use this day to help your body adjust to the altitude. You'll take a short hike of 45 minutes to an hour up to either Kyanjin Ri or Tseku Ri (4,984 meters) for panoramic views in all directions. From there you see Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Nayakhanga, Dorje Lakpa, and other major peaks. If you have energy, the Langtang Lirung base camp is about an hour away, or walk around the village to get a feel for how people live up here.

Kyanjin to Lama Hotel
Head back down to Lama Hotel retracing the same route, which takes about 7 hours. Downhill hiking is usually easier on your lungs though your legs might feel it. Let your guide know ahead of time if your knees are giving you trouble so they can slow things down for the group.

- Day 9
Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru
Trek uphill for 8 hours to Thulo Syabru, a real working village (different from Syapru Bensi where you started). The climb is steady, so take it at your own pace and pay attention to how your body feels throughout the day. You'll pass through local villages and see the surrounding scenery change as you gain elevation.

Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa
Walk for 5 hours through villages to Sing Gompa at 3,584 meters. This part of the trek focuses more on local culture and community life than remote mountain wilderness. You still get beautiful views of the Langtang valley, but you're spending time among the villages and getting to know how people live in this region.

Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda
Trek 6 hours through Sherpa villages to Gosaikunda, a sacred alpine lake sitting at 4,460 meters in a hidden valley. Along the way you pass several holy lakes including Saraswati Kund and Bhairab Kunda. These lakes hold deep meaning in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions, and local stories connect them to Lord Shiva. The surrounding mountains include Himal Chuli, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal towering above.

Gosaikunda to Phedi
This 6-hour day starts with breakfast, then you climb to the Gosaikunda pass viewpoint. After crossing the pass, you descend to Phedi at 3,780 meters. Along the trail you move through villages like Bheda Goth, gradually working your way down through different terrain.

- Day 13
Phedi to Helambu
Trek for 5 hours with mostly downhill and gradual ups and downs through villages and bamboo forest to reach Ghopte Bhir village. Continue on through more mountain scenery and eventually into Helambu village. From various points on the trail, you can see Sishapangma (8,027 meters), the 14th highest mountain in the world, also known as Gosainthan in Tibetan.

Helambu to (Next Village)
Walk for 4 to 6 hours through forest terrain with views of hills and villages around you. If you're trekking during spring, the rhododendron flowers paint the forest in bright colors and make this section particularly nice.

(Previous Village) to Chisapani
Your 7-hour trek takes you to Chisapani at 2,165 meters, moving through several small settlements and getting a close look at local life and the natural landscape together. When you arrive, you'll find yourself at a spot with great views across a wide range of mountains and the distinctive shapes of the surrounding hills.

Chisapani to Kathmandu
On your final trekking day, walk 4 to 5 hours mostly downhill through villages and forest (with colorful rhododendrons in spring). You'll exit Shivapuri National Park where the trek ends, then drive 2 hours by bus or jeep back to Kathmandu. That evening, settle into your nice hotel in the city and celebrate finishing the circuit trek.
