  1. Day 1

    Antigua Guatemala

    You'll get picked up from the airport and taken directly to your hotel in Antigua Guatemala. After checking in, the rest of the day is yours to settle in and relax.

    Antigua Guatemala

    This morning you'll walk through Antigua's historic center, checking out the colonial churches, monasteries, and convents that define this 300-year-old city. The cobbled streets let you take in the architecture at your own pace as you wander around the different neighborhoods.

  3. Day 3

    Pacaya Volcano

    An 8 a.m. pickup gets you to Pacaya Volcano for a 5-hour outing. You'll climb Guatemala's most active volcano and see views of the Calderas lagoon and surrounding peaks. After you get back down, the afternoon is free. You'll head back to Antigua for the night.

  4. Day 4

    Panajachel

    You're heading to Lake Atitlán and spending time in Panajachel. A boat takes you across to a Tzutuhil village where you'll see traditional weaving cooperatives and learn how they use natural dyes. You'll also check out local murals and visit the church. Lunch happens at a lakeside restaurant with views of the water before heading back to Panajachel.

    Flores

    This morning starts at Chichicastenango's market, where you'll walk through the colorful Mayan Highlands. Later you're transferred to Guatemala City for a flight to Flores in Petén, where you'll spend the night.

  6. Day 6

    Tikal Archaeological Site

    You'll head out to Tikal for a guided tour of the temples and acropolis. The route covers Complex Q and R, the Central Acropolis, Temple I and II, and the Lost World complex. After lunch at the visitor center, you're back at your hotel in Flores by evening.

    San Ignacio

    After breakfast, a transfer takes you to Yaxhá, a Pre-Columbian Maya ceremonial center with architecture influenced by Teotihuacan. You'll see the rare twin pyramid complex and Stelae Plaza outside of Tikal. Following lunch, you'll move on to San Ignacio for your overnight stay.

    Caracol Archaeological Site

    Starting after breakfast, you're heading to Caracol to see Canaa or Sky Pyramid, one of the tallest manmade structures in the country. The site offers views of forested peaks, rolling hills, and steep gorges. You'll return to San Ignacio for the night.

    Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave

    Today is an adventure to the ATM Caves with ceramics, stonework, and human remains inside. You'll hike about 30 minutes through forest to get to the entrance, then swim into an underground realm filled with stalactites, stalagmites, and flowstone. After the cave, you're back at your hotel.

    Hol Chan Marine Reserve

    You're visiting Hol Chan, the oldest marine reserve at the southern tip of Ambergris Cayes. Two stops let you explore the barrier reef and see different coral types and tropical fish. The boat brings you back to your hotel afterward.

    Is this itinerary fixed? I'd like to rent bikes and explore Flores. I'm not interested in the cave tour, as I've done similar tours before. Also, what exactly is the excursion to the Great Barrier Reef? Is this snorkeling, or options to walk the beaches, etc?

    • For any tour departing before January 2nd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 2nd, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Guatemalan Adventure . The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
