Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
You'll fly out from Kathmandu to Lukla early in the morning, then start trekking through dense forests and potato fields. The walk takes about 4 hours to reach Phakding, and you'll notice the mountain scenery opening up as you descend into the valley. It's a good first day to get your legs moving and adjust to the terrain before the bigger climbs ahead.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
This is a longer day on the trail, so plan for 5 to 6 hours of hiking up to Namche Bazaar. You'll arrive at what's basically the main hub of the region and the largest Sherpa settlement around. The town has shops, restaurants, and proper lodges, so it's a good spot to grab a real meal and settle in for the night.

- Day 3
Namche Bazaar
Spend your time in Namche looking around the town and then hike up to Everest View Lodge on the hillside above. From there you'll get clear views of the mountains and can see how high things really get. It's not a long hike, so you'll have time to walk back and rest before evening.

Landmarks Namche Bazaar Everest View Lodge - Day 4
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Leave Namche and head toward Tengboche, which is a shorter day compared to yesterday. The trek takes you higher and brings you to a monastery at Tengboche with better lodging options than some of the smaller villages. The mountain views from here are particularly nice, and you're getting closer to base camp elevation.

Landmarks Tengboche - Day 5
Tengboche to Dingboche
You'll trek around Dingboche for about 5 hours through high altitude terrain that looks more like a desert landscape. The area gets fewer trekkers than other routes, so it feels quieter and more isolated. This section helps your body adjust to the thinner air before the final push.

- Day 6
Dingboche to Everest Base Camp
Head for Everest Base Camp at the high altitude of 4900 meters (16,076 feet). Make sure you're wearing warm layers and have eaten enough, since the air is thin and your body is working hard. You'll stay the night at base camp and can celebrate reaching this point while you rest and acclimatize.

Landmarks Everest Base Camp - Day 7
Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep to Lukla to Kathmandu
Start very early from base camp and walk down to Gorakshep, then catch a helicopter transfer back to Lukla. From there you'll fly back to Kathmandu. The quick descent and flight get you to lower altitude and back to the city by afternoon or evening.
