Itinerary
- Day 1
Anchorage
Your Alaskan journey starts when you get to Anchorage and settle into your hotel. After that, you'll take a 15-mile narrated trolley ride through historic downtown, passing by Lake Hood, scenic viewpoints, and Earthquake Park to get oriented. The group dinner in the evening kicks things off nicely for the week ahead.

- Day 2
Cook Inlet
This morning you'll drive along Turnagain Arm in Cook Inlet, one of the state's best scenic routes. Watch for Beluga Whales as you stop at viewing areas and points of interest. By afternoon, you'll reach the Wildlife Conservation Center, where orphaned and injured animals get care. The full drive takes about 4.5 hours, so you'll have time to really take in the landscape.

Homer to Katmai National Park or Lake Clark
Early on, you'll fly from Homer to Katmai National Park or Lake Clark (depending on weather conditions) for grizzly bear viewing. Once there, you'll hike roughly 4 to 5 miles over 3 hours, walking through braided rivers and meadows. Later in the afternoon, stop by the Alaska Islands and Oceans Visitor Center before heading back.

- Day 4
Kachemak Bay State Park
You'll take a 30-minute boat to Kachemak Bay State Park, which you can only reach by water. From there, hike with a local naturalist through three different ecosystems: marine environment, coastal forest, and glacial moraine. You'll see a large glacier flowing into the lake, and then move into kayaking past icebergs. Plan on a full 8-hour day with a 2.5-mile hike and about 3 hours of kayaking.

Seward
You'll drive toward Seward, stopping frequently along the way to take in views and check out roadside points of interest. The Alaska Sea Life Center gives you hands-on time with marine mammals. Next, you'll visit Exit Glacier and have the option to hike the Harding Ice Field trail (4.5 miles round trip). The drive itself is about 4.5 hours.

- Day 6
Anchorage
This is a full day on the water. You'll spend 9 hours on a nature cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park, spotting puffins, sea otters, humpback whales, sea lions, and cormorants as you head to one of the least visited fjords to see a tidewater glacier. If you prefer calmer waters, there's a 3-hour option followed by a dog sled tour. By evening, you'll have dinner and ride the Gold Star Dome Train back to Anchorage.

- Day 7
Talkeetna
You'll drive to Denali National Park with frequent stops to see the scenery and wildlife. In Talkeetna, grab lunch and then go on a 2-hour narrated jet boat trip down the Talkeetna River. You'll spot bears, eagles, fish, beavers, moose, foxes, and waterfowl, plus see active bald eagle nests, beaver dams, and an old miner's cabin. Total drive time is 6 hours.

Denali National Park
You'll explore Denali National Park by bus today. You can take a narrated tour or choose a flexible option where you stop and hike wherever you want. A picnic lunch happens out in the park itself. Depending on what you choose, you could be out and about anywhere from 7 to 10 hours.

Landmarks Denali National Park - Day 9
Talkeetna
Weather permitting, you'll fly to see North America's tallest peak. You have two choices: land on a glacier and walk around, or take a pressurized plane up to view the 20,322-foot summit from the plane itself. Lunch is included at Talkeetna Lodge. This evening, head into the town of Talkeetna to experience the local culture and food scene.

Talkeetna to Anchorage
You'll head out early from Talkeetna and drive straight back to Anchorage, about 2.5 hours. Schedule your departure flight for 2pm or later, giving yourself time to grab breakfast and handle last-minute things before heading to the airport.
