- IDIan· January 24th, 2023There were positives and negatives. Of the positives I was very happy with the help that was provided by Mehmet. He answered my questions promptly and organized pickups for tours and transfers without and problems. The transportation was always on time with efficient and pleasant drivers. There was only one mistake when I was put on the wrong tour while in Cappadocia. I had total confidence in the infrastructure of the trip. On the downside this could not really be called a wine and food trip. On the day I was to do three tastings there were problems. It took awhile to find the first winery but that was a positive experience. We then drove for 2 hours to a small family winery where they were very pleasant but didn’t understand the tasting experience. They served samples of wine in small throw away plastic cups. It was then another two hour drive to a large winery who were not doing tastings this time of year. They were accommodating in letting me try three wines but it was so late in the day and haven driven for five hours that being in the mood to sample wine was difficult. The fourth winery I was to visit in Cappadocia was not on offer. With respect of the food portion, the cooking day was excellent. It was a very hands on experience with lovely people who treated me like one of the family. On the whole I enjoyed the trip but was disappointed with the wine experience [my primary reason to go on this trip] and thought that there should have been more time spent on the food experience. I did not like being taken to buying trips to three leather shops during what amounted to an eight day trip. One the whole the hotels were excellent. The breakfasts at all but the Effe Boutique Hotel were good but serving cold French fries from the night before for breakfast was poor. Many guests were unhappy and complained. This needs to improve. The best morning meals where fresh omelettes at the Truka and MDC Cave hotels. I trust this is helpful and I thank you Mehmet for your help and interest Regards.
