Strasbourg
You'll board at 5:00 p.m. in Strasbourg for a welcome cocktail and meet the crew. After settling in, head into the city center to check out the Christmas markets where you'll find mulled wine, gingerbread, and holiday decorations everywhere. Come back to the ship for dinner, and then you're off cruising toward Breisach for the night.

Colmar
This is a full day exploring Christmas markets. Start by visiting Riquewihr, a medieval village surrounded by vineyards, where you'll walk through its authentic Christmas market and see the half-timbered buildings. Grab a typical local lunch at a restaurant there. In the afternoon, you'll head to Colmar's historic center and the Little Venice neighborhood, tour the Choco-Story chocolate museum, and warm up with hot chocolate. Explore Colmar's Christmas market before heading back to the ship.

Basel
The morning brings a cruise to Basel with an onboard workshop where you'll learn to make traditional Alsatian Christmas cookies called bredeles. You'll arrive in the early afternoon. Then it's time to tour Lackerli Huus and taste their famous Basler Läckerli along with other chocolates and candies they make there. After that, you'll wander through Basel's largest Christmas market with over 150 vendors and craftspeople. Back on the ship, you'll have mulled wine and an evening of Christmas tales.

Our cruise on MS Symphonie was excellent. The boat and our cabin in particular were comfortable and well equipped. The food was very good, tasty, beautifully prepared and presented, with well-sized portions, and a wide variety of French cuisine including many regional specialities. The included wines were varied, delicious and demonstrated an interesting range of French varieties. The range of the other drinks on offer was also very satisfactory. We did not feel it was necessary to try any of the paid drinks but it was nice to know they were available. Service was excellent in all categories: efficient and friendly. We only took two of the optional excursions (Strasbourg and Colmar) and both were well organised and very interesting. We would happily take another cruise with CroisiEurope.
