- RMRichard· April 13th, 2024I enjoyed the tour although I was compromised by pre-existing health issues which prevented me from undertaking the most challenging walks. The tour leader always ensured I had an alternative plan so that I enjoyed each day. A minor criticism - I found the bus uncomfortable - too little leg-room and no shelf to store our back-packs (but that might be my age and particular circumstances).Show moreIntrepid Travel commented on this reviewHi Richard! - DTDonald· February 6th, 2024Tasmania was awesome but the Tour was not, the van was old and very cramped, driver played music so loud no one could talk, except of course when he was talking, each morning we had to pick up our food for the entire day from a local pastry shop, only had one actual lunch break during the whole tour, we were advised that the van was on a GPS system and there would be no deviation from a very strict schedule, during a majority of the tour stops, the driver spent most of his time doing paperwork or sleeping, except, of course, when he went swimming I have waited some time to submit this Review because I wanted to reflect on this experience and I had also scheduled another short Tour with this company which has now been completed. There is much more that could be written and I would be happy to discuss my concerns if anyone is really interested, but the bottom line is, I will never tour with this company againShow moreIntrepid Travel commented on this reviewHello Donald – Thank you for talking the time to post your review. What an amazing place if someone likes nature, forest, sea, small villages, nice towns etc. I cannot describe the beuty of the Bay of Fire and Cradle Mountains, the visit to a local winery and Hobart city. I suggest to spend at least one day extra to explore Hobart city. Our group was an amazing multinational group and our tour guide was the ideal leader for this trip. Traveler•Written September 2023From the brochure, i understand that hotel pickup on first day is offered. Could you advise which hotels are covered for the pickup? If we need to stay extra day pre or post the tour would you be able to advise, and the rates. Looking at tour that starts on 16 Dec
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written September 2023
Only a pickup is included for this trip and we can pick you up at any centrally located hotels in Hobart. We would have to request the transfer from our local team before confirming. If you could let us know the hotel name, we can check with our local team if it's possible to arrange a pickup from that hotel.

Asked on May 22nd, 2023Is Intrepid Travel's 6 day Highlights of Tasmania tour fit for a senior citizen in reasonable health with past hiking experience? Are the participants mostly young adults? Do hotels/motels come with private bathroom facilities? And their ratings please. Does a single traveler pay additional fees over the tour price shown on your site? What other fees are required to be paid in addition to food prices?
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written May 2023
- Regarding the physical rating for this tour, 2 out of 5 = Some easy physical activities included in your trip. No physical preparation is required to make the most of the journey. - on the mentioned departure we currently hold 2 spots for the clients age who are 70+. - As per the starting and ending point hotels, the rating is 4 star hotel. we will need to check if the bathroom facilities are included. - If you wish to have your own room throughout the trip then you will need to pay an additional amount. all our accommodation are on twin shar basis. if you are okay in sharing rooms you wont be needed to pay an additional amount. - When it comes to spending money on the trip, every traveller is a little different. You know your spending habits better than we do, so please budget an appropriate amount for things like optional meals, drinks, shopping, optional activities, and laundry.

Traveler•Written May 2023Hi Shanelle: Thank you for answering my questions. However, I need to know the amount of single supplement for not sharing a hotel room with another person, and if there will be attached and private bathroom facility with the hotel room.
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written May 2023
Please note that the single supplement is subjected to availability. and the cost for a single supplement would be US$ 360. When it comes to the bathroom facilities, we need to have this checked with our local team on ground.
