- Day 1
Hanoi
Your German-speaking guide meets you at Hanoi airport and drives you into the city center, about 35 km away (around 35 minutes). Check-in starts at 14:00, so you'll have time to settle in once you reach the hotel. From there, you can either book a massage or wander through the old town's narrow streets on your own if you want to start getting a feel for the city.

Hanoi
This is a full day exploring Hanoi from around 08:00 to 17:00. You'll see the Ho Chi Minh Complex (mausoleum is optional), the Presidential Palace, the historic Stilt House, and One Pillar Pagoda. After that, head to the Temple of Literature and walk around Hoan Kiem Lake to visit Jade Mountain Temple. Later you'll take a rickshaw through the Old Quarter, and the day wraps up with a Water Puppet Theatre performance.

Halong Bay
Board a traditional junk and sail into Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with nearly 2000 islands and limestone cliffs. You'll spend the day cruising through the area, relaxing and taking in the views. As evening comes, watch the sunset from the water. Dinner is seafood served on board, and you'll stay overnight on the junk.

Halong Bay to Hue
Morning starts with breakfast on the junk before you cruise through Halong Bay until midday. After disembarking, you'll drive to Hanoi airport and fly to Hue in central Vietnam in the afternoon. Your German-speaking guide meets you there and takes you to your hotel. The rest of your day is free to settle in.

Hue
Today you'll take a boat trip on the Perfume River to see Thien Mu Pagoda and its impressive Phuoc Duyen Tower, the highest pagoda in Vietnam. Then explore the Imperial Palace and imperial city of Hue, including the Trang Tien Bridge and Dong Ba Market for a taste of authentic Vietnamese culture. In the afternoon, check out the royal tombs and garden houses. This tour wraps up around 17:00.

Hue to Hoi An
You travel to Hoi An with a stop at Cloud Pass, which sits at 496 m high and marks the weather divide between the subtropical north and tropical south. Along the way, you'll see the kilometer-long Lang Co beach and Marble Mountains. Stop in Danang to hike Marble Mountain, a collection of five limestone hills with peaks, caves, tunnels and temples offering great views from the top. Continue to Hoi An, a former trading port with distinctive architecture, tailor shops and cafes. Check in and rest at your hotel.

Hoi An
This morning and early afternoon (around 08:30 to 15:00) you'll walk through Hoi An's narrow streets on foot, checking out Chua Ong Pagoda or Phuc Kien Pagoda, the Assembly Hall, Tam Ky House from 200 years ago, and the covered Japanese Bridge. Then there's a cultural show with traditional music and dance, followed by the Precious Heritage Museum to see Rehahn's portrait collection. After that, bike to Tra Que village where you'll walk through vegetable farms, watch farmers work, enjoy a foot bath and massage, and prepare your own lunch (a van's available if biking isn't your thing). Rest of the day is yours to explore more.

The morning is free in Hoi An, so you can explore on your own or join one of the optional tours available to connect more with locals. Later in the day, transfer to Danang airport and fly to Saigon in the afternoon. A German-speaking guide meets you and takes you to your hotel. The rest of the evening is free.

Saigon
A full-day city tour of Saigon runs from around 08:30 to 15:00. You'll see Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1863 and 1880 by French colonists. Visit the historic Post Office, designed by Gustave Eiffel and built between 1886 and 1891, where you can grab stamps and postcards. Then check out the Reunification Palace with its war history and basement exhibitions. Stop by Ngoc Hoang Pagoda from 1909, full of statues and deities. You'll also explore an authentic Vietnamese market with seafood, vegetables and clothing vendors. Return to the hotel mid-afternoon.

Travel to Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta, about 90 km away or roughly 2 hours by car. This coastal province is famous for its fruit plantations and coconut groves. Your day runs from about 08:00 to 16:30. Start with a boat trip on the Mekong River and stop at a small farm to try local fruit and tea. Take a rickshaw to lunch at a local restaurant, then continue by small boat through narrow waterways before heading back to Saigon.

Your Vietnam trip comes to an end today. Check out of your beach hotel and take the shuttle bus from Phu Quoc airport. Fly back home via Saigon with your local airline.
