- Day 1
Trebinje
Start your trip in southern Bosnia by heading to Blagaj monastery, where you'll see the structure built right into the hillside. From there, make your way to the Radimlja archaeological site to check out the medieval tombstones and learn about the region's history. Later, you'll explore Vjetrenica cave, which is quite impressive with its stalactites and underground lakes. Before settling in for the night, stop at Zavala monastery and a local winery to taste some regional wines. By evening, you'll arrive in Trebinje for your accommodation.

Trebinje to Sarajevo
Leave Trebinje and travel north through Bosnia, stopping at Tvrdos monastery along the way. The main event today is reaching Visegrad to see the iconic bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage site that's historically significant and worth walking across. Spend some time exploring the town itself before continuing on to Sarajevo. Once you arrive, you'll have free time to wander around the city on your own and get a feel for the place before checking into your accommodation.

Sarajevo
Dedicate this day to learning about Sarajevo's past and present. Visit the Sarajevo tunnel museum to understand what the city went through during the war. Afterward, walk through the historic center with its mix of Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian architecture. Stop by the cathedral, which is really impressive, then head up on the Sarajevo funicular to get panoramic views of the entire city and surrounding mountains. This gives you a good sense of Sarajevo's layout and scale.

Sarajevo to Doboj
Head north from Sarajevo and check out Travnik fortress as you go, then continue to Maglaj fortress. Both sites give you a look at the region's defensive history. After that, stop at Zavala monastery before heading south to Trebinje, where you'll have some free time to move around. Later in the day, travel to Doboj for your accommodation.

Doboj to Banja Luka
Continue exploring northern Bosnia by visiting Doboj fortress first thing. From there, head to Tesanj fortress to see another piece of the region's military heritage. Then travel to Banja Luka and walk through its historical center, taking in the cathedral and exploring the fortress there. By evening, you'll be settled into your accommodation in Banja Luka.

Banja Luka to Mostar
On your final day, start at the Ljubacke doline ethno village to experience authentic local culture and traditions. Then head to Jajce to see the spectacular waterfall and walk through the historic center with its medieval character. Check out Jajce fortress for views of the surrounding area, and stop by Scit monastery before making your way back to Mostar.
