- Day 1
Kashgar
You'll arrive in Kashgar, the historic gateway city on the ancient Silk Road. After checking in to your hotel with your ID, you can settle in and get oriented. Airport or railway station transfer is available if you need it, so let them know your arrival details when booking.

- Day 2
Kashgar to Turpan
A local guide takes you through Kashgar for the full day. You'll see the Apha Hoja Tomb with its blue tiles, then walk through the old town to check out traditional houses and shops. After that, head to the handicraft street where you can find music instruments and traditional crafts. The Id Kah Mosque, Xinjiang's largest, is also on the schedule. If you're there on a Sunday, you'll visit the Animal Bazaar too. Later in the evening, you transfer to Kashgar airport for a 13-hour overnight train heading to Turpan.

Turpan
Turpan reveals the ancient history of the Silk Road through several key sites. You'll explore the historical cities of Gaochang and Jiaohe, then check out the Bezklik Grottoes. Learning about the Karez Irrigation System shows how people managed water in this desert region. Along the way, you'll try local Uyghur cuisine like Nang bread, pilaf, and kebab, so you get a real taste of what the area has to offer.

Turpan to Urumqi
This is your free day in Turpan to do what appeals to you. Visit Turpan Bazaar or the Turpan Museum, or just relax at your hotel. In the afternoon, you head to Urumqi either by car (3 hours) or bullet train (1 hour), then transfer to your Urumqi hotel to settle in for the night.

- Day 5
Urumqi
Your guided city tour of Urumqi starts at 9:30am. First, you'll spend time at the Xinjiang Museum looking at relics and artifacts that show the region's long Silk Road history. From there, you move on to Red Hill and the Hongguangshan Big Buddha Statue. The day wraps up at Erdaoqiao International Bazaar where you can shop and soak in the local culture.

Tianchi (Heavenly Lake)
You take a day excursion to Tianchi, also called Heavenly Lake, located in the Tianshan Mountains valley. After a one-hour car ride from Urumqi, you board a sightseeing bus to reach a viewpoint. From there, you can take in the high-mountain lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. You'll head back to Urumqi in the afternoon with plenty of time to rest.
