Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi
You'll get picked up from the airport and head to your Nairobi hotel for check-in. There's a welcome meeting at 6pm where you'll meet your group leader and other travelers. If you arrive with time to spare, the Nairobi Gallery has some interesting artistic displays, or you can relax by the pool. After the meeting wraps up, everyone heads out to a local restaurant for traditional Kenyan food served family-style with samosas, fried plantains, and tilapia.

Nairobi to Lake Nakuru
You'll travel to the Great Rift Valley and visit Elsamere, where author Joy Adamson lived before writing 'Born Free'. The museum here covers Joy and George Adamson's conservation efforts with wildlife. A boat trip on Lake Naivasha gives you chances to spot hippos on the highest lake in the valley. You'll have high tea for lunch on the grounds overlooking the water, then continue to your Lake Nakuru lodge where you can see the national park and wildlife from your room.

Lake Nakuru
Early morning and afternoon game drives take you through Lake Nakuru National Park in a 4x4 vehicle. The soda lake here draws great numbers of flamingos that often color the landscape pink, and it's excellent for bird watching. You might see waterbuck, reedbuck, gazelle, leopards, and if you're lucky, black rhinos. Between drives you'll return to the lodge for lunch and rest.

Landmarks/POIs Lake Nakuru National Park - Day 4
Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara
You'll head southwest toward the Maasai Mara, passing through the Great Rift Valley and the remote Loita Hills where Maasai people live. At Tepesua Village, Maasai warriors greet you with traditional song and dance. You'll learn about village life and see a traditional Maasai home and cattle enclosure, plus learn about the Tepesua Widows Income Project. After that, you'll reach Zebra River Camp for the next three nights, where luxury tented rooms have ensuite bathrooms and private verandas facing the wilderness.

Maasai Mara
A full day of game drives starts early and runs into the afternoon across the Maasai Mara. You'll depart with a packed lunch for an extended drive into the furthest areas of the park. Wildlife here includes wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, elephants, giraffes, and elands. With some luck you'll spot black-maned lions, leopards, and cheetahs. As sunset approaches, you'll take a break with a drink before heading back to camp late.

Maasai Mara
The morning is flexible so you can choose what works for you. Relax on your private deck with coffee and watch for wildlife, or take an early game drive or walking safari. A sunrise hot air balloon ride over the plains is another option if that interests you. In the afternoon you'll rejoin the group for another 4x4 game drive through the reserve.

Maasai Mara to Nairobi
You'll say goodbye to the Maasai Mara and head back to Nairobi, arriving late in the afternoon. Your tour ends in the afternoon with time available for onward travel or any optional extensions you want to arrange.
