- Day 1
Merano
You'll arrive in Merano, a cultural center tucked into South Tyrol's landscape. The town is yours to explore at your own pace, so wander through the shaded alleyways or head along the Passer promenade. This walkway has historical significance, connected to Empress Sissi who once strolled these same paths. It's a good day to get your bearings and settle into the region.

- Day 2
Merano to Nals
Early start for a hike along the Waal trails, where you'll pass through apple orchards and work your way toward a waterfall. The route takes you through Tisens, a chestnut village with St. Christoph church marking the landscape. After walking through wooded sections with valley views, you'll reach Nals, surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards. Plan on spending 5 to 6 hours on your feet.

Nals to Kaltern
The Castle Trail connects several fortresses, so you'll see different architectural styles as you move between them. Midday brings you to the ice holes area, a geological oddity where ice persists through summer months. Then continue past St. George's Tower through vineyards down to Lake Kaltern. Expect around 5 to 5.5 hours of walking.

- Day 4
Kaltern to Coredo
Take an early train to Mendel Pass and enjoy the views from up there. You'll walk across high plains toward Val di Non, crossing into a different language region and new province. The route leads through gorges and villages, bringing you to the Santuario of St. Romedio. After passing two small lakes, you'll arrive in Coredo. This day takes about 4.5 to 5 hours of hiking.

Coredo to Molveno
A short transfer gets you into Non Valley. From there, you'll follow the Way of St. James toward Paganella plateau, walking through wooded terrain to reach Cavedago and its notable three-arched bridge. You'll cross wetlands and a karst lake before reaching Andalo, then Molveno at the base of the Brenta Dolomites by a turquoise Alpine lake. Budget 4.5 to 5.5 hours for this hike.

Molveno
Start early with a cable car taking you up into the high Brenta peaks. The hiking routes through the Pradel mountain area offer solid terrain and good views. Stop at a rifugio for an Italian snack and rest. Your route heads toward Lago Nembia, a mountain lake with clear green water. Plan for 3 to 5 hours of walking time.

You'll hike through the Lomason Valley's meadows and climb toward Rifugio Monte San Pietro, which offers views of Lake Garda below. The descent takes you through narrow alleyways and arches past stone walls to reach Castel of Tenno. This final stretch of your week wraps up with a walk through olive groves and Mediterranean cypress trees, ending at Lake Garda's shore. Around 3 to 4 hours of walking finishes this day.
