Paro
After breakfast, you'll take a spectacular walk to the iconic 300-year-old Tiger's Nest Monastery where Guru Padmasambava is believed to have landed on a tiger's back in the 8th century (the round trip walk is approximately 5 hours). Afterwards, you'll visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum with antique thangka paintings, textiles, weapons, armor, household objects, and natural and historic artifacts. A short walk to Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) follows, featuring fine wall paintings illustrating Buddhist lore. In the evening, you'll stroll around Paro main street visiting shops and the local market.
