Itinerary
- Day 1
Cagliari
Your trip starts in Cagliari where you'll spend time walking through the medieval Castello that sits high above the town. The 13th century cathedral is worth a visit, and the State Archaeological Museum (housed in a former arsenal) has some good collections to see. The ponds around the area often have flamingos, so keep your eyes open for those.

Cagliari to Carloforte to Calasetta
After breakfast, a private transfer takes you and your bikes to Nebida. From there you'll drive about 25 km to Portovesme port for the ferry over to San Pietro island. Once you arrive in Carloforte, wander around on foot or by bike to take in the town's Genoese dialect and culture. Later you'll catch another ferry to Calasetta on Sant'Antioco island, which is known for producing Carignano del Sulcis wines.

Sant'Antioco Island
Today you get to pick what you want to do. Cycling around the island with stops at scenic bays for a picnic works well, or you could try a fishing boat trip instead. A horse ride is another option if that appeals to you. You can also just spend the day relaxing on the beach if you prefer something quieter.

Sant'Antioco to Porto Pino
You'll stop in the village of Tratalias to check out its Romanesque church and the atmospheric stone houses there. Then the route takes you downhill through scenic countryside and vineyards until you reach Porto Pino.

Porto Pino
Head inland to explore villages like Sant'Anna Arresi, where you can stop for a picnic. The Nuraghe Arresi and two churches dedicated to Saint Anna are in the area to visit. By afternoon, you'll relax at Porto Pino beach, which has small coves and clear water for swimming.

Porto Pino to Teulada
You'll start in the village of Masinas and then move on to Santadi to see its famous wine cellar. The route passes by the impressive Is Zuddas caves before finishing in Teulada, known for its terracotta pipes and ornate embroidery that you can see around town.

- Day 7
Teulada to Pula
This final cycling day covers the Costa del Sud with rolling hills and coastal views throughout. Historic watchtowers dot the landscape, and you'll pass pretty bays with clear water if you want to swim. You'll finish in Pula and then visit the Nora archaeological site just outside the city to see well-preserved Roman mosaics from this important Phoenician port.
