Itinerary
- Day 1
Santorini
Arriving at Santorini airport this afternoon, you'll catch a cab to your hotel in Akrotiri. After settling in, take a walk along the caldera to see the steep cliffs and whitewashed villages perched above. If you have energy left, the Akrotiri archaeological excavation site sits just minutes away and offers a look at ancient Minoan structures preserved by volcanic ash.

- Day 2
Santorini
Your cab picks you up early to head to Perissa where the hiking starts. The ascent toward the mountain saddle brings strong winds, so be prepared for that. From there you'll climb to Old Therma, the ancient capital, with excellent views across the island. The descent takes you through the interior past wineries and small villages, then along the volcanic ash landscape and black beach back to Akrotiri. This is a full day of walking, so plan for several hours on your feet.

- Day 3
Santorini - Fira to Oia
Take the public bus to Fira, the island's capital, and walk through its narrow whitewashed streets that sit on volcanic rock. The Thera Prehistoric Museum and Archaeological Museum are worth checking out if you're interested in history. During the afternoon, head out on the famous trail from Fira to Oia, which gives you incredible views of the lagoon and surrounding cliffs along the way. Your pickup in Oia will bring you back to the hotel.

- Day 4
Santorini to Naxos
The morning leaves you with time for either a short caldera walk or visiting the Akrotiri archaeological site. After that, you'll head to the port for the ferry to Naxos departing around 3:30 pm, with the crossing taking about 2.5 hours. Once you arrive in Naxos town (Chora), explore the castle or take a short walk to the Chrisostomos monastery before settling in for the evening.

- Day 5
Naxos
Take a cab or bus to Chalki in the Tragea highlands to walk through this fertile interior area filled with ancient olive groves and lush vegetation. You'll pass the Venetian fortress of Ano Kastro and see an unfinished marble Kouros statue from the 6th century BC at an old quarry, standing about 10 meters high. The hike finishes in Melanes village where you can catch transport back to your hotel.

- Day 6
Naxos
After a short cab ride to Kynidaros, walk to the village of Eggares and see the local churches and two restored olive presses, one dating back to 1885. Grab lunch at a taverna in the village square, then tour one of the presses before heading back to the hotel on your own.

Naxos
Reach Filoti by cab or public bus and start your ascent up Mount Zas (also called Mount Zeus). The summit gives you great views across Naxos and the surrounding area. From there, walk down through fields past a monastery until you reach Apiranthos, one of the larger villages on the island. Stop for a break at a café before catching a cab or bus back to your hotel.

Naxos to Santorini
Spend your morning visiting the castle or museum in Naxos town (Chora), or relax on the sandy beach at Agios Georgios if you prefer a quieter morning. A transfer takes you to the port around 1 pm for the ferry back to Santorini, arriving around 3:30 pm. From the port, a cab or transfer will take you directly to Santorini airport for your evening flight home.
