Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
You'll arrive and get settled into your accommodation for the week. This is your chance to drop off gear, grab lunch if you need to, and get oriented with the area. Take time to rest up before the hiking starts tomorrow.

- Day 2
Vinschgau Valley - Lake Reschen to Burgeis
Start this morning with a walk along Lake Reschen heading toward Graun, where you'll see the church tower sticking up from the dammed lake - it's one of the most photographed spots in the valley. The path takes you past Lake Haidersee and alongside the largest scree cone in the Alps before climbing up to the mountain village of Planeil. From there, you'll head down through forests and across flowering meadows to reach Burgeis, with the impressive Marienberg monastery visible along the way.

Mals to Schluderns
Head out on the Sonnensteig trail with nice views of snow-covered peaks around you. The route takes you through Bronze and Iron Age excavation sites, so there's some history mixed in with the hiking. By afternoon you'll reach Schluderns and see Churburg Castle, which sits impressively above the town.

- Day 4
Laas to Vinschgau Valley
Start at the base of Sonnberg mountain and walk through forested terrain, then descend into Laas, famous for its white marble quarries. From there, continue through Vinschgau Valley with apple orchards on both sides of the trail. The valley section is flatter and gives your legs a bit of a break from climbing.

Vinschgau Valley - Orchards to Naturns
Today you're hiking through the orchard region of Vinschgau Valley along the Latschander Waalweg trail, moving through the areas where South Tyrol produces its best wines. You'll follow an archaeological hiking trail that brings you close to Messner's Juval Castle, which rises sharply above the valley. After working through a series of hairpin bends, the route descends down to the valley floor at Naturns.

- Day 6
Vinschgau Valley - Waalweg Trails to Merano
This hike takes you high along the Rablander Waalweg through forests and past mountain farms, with views of the Vinschgau Valley throughout the day. Following the Parcines and Lagundo Waalweg trails, you'll make your way down into the Merano basin where the climate turns milder. After finishing the hike, you can soak your legs in the thermal baths to recover.

Final Day
