Itinerary
- Day 1
Maishofen
You'll arrive at Hotel/Landgasthof Schloss Kammer in Maishofen and get settled into your accommodation. Take some time to walk around the area, familiarize yourself with the layout, and prepare for the hiking week ahead. This is a good moment to check your gear and get a sense of the local surroundings before you start on the trails.

- Day 2
Maishofen
Head out on the Maishofner Höhenweg trail, which takes you up to Berggasthof Mitterberghof where you'll see some nice mountain views. From there, descend past Hubertus Chapel and follow the path along Lake Zell. The lido is worth a quick stop if you have time. You'll return to Kammer Castle via Mayerhofen and Steinberg. The trail covers about 12 km with roughly 4 hours of walking and 450m of climbing and descending.

- Day 3
Saalbach
Catch a bus from Maishofen to the Saalbach sports region and start your hike from Hinterglemm Mitterlengau. Walk through the valley, passing Forsthofalm, Saalalm, and Lindlingalm before crossing a suspension bridge to reach the treetop path. After that, you'll head back by bus to Maishofen. This hike is about 9 km with 4 hours of walking and 450m of elevation gain and loss.

- Day 4
Schmittenhöhe
Take the bus to Zell am See and ride the gondola up Schmittenhöhebahn to Schmittenhöhe at 1,965m/6,446 ft. The panoramic views from up there show Lake Zellersee and the surrounding three-thousand-metre peaks. Visit Elisabeth Chapel, then descend via Sonnkogel and Sonnalm. You'll have some free time to explore the town before catching the bus back to Maishofen. The walking portion is about 9 km over 3 hours 50 minutes with only 110m of climbing but 990m of descent.

- Day 5
Schwalbenwand
This is your most challenging day. Start right from Schloss Kammer on the Schwalbenwand trail heading toward Maishofen's local mountain at 2,011m/6,598 ft. Follow varied alpine paths to reach the Maishofner summit, then continue on to Schwalbenwand peak. On clear days, you'll see the snow-covered Hohe Tauern, Steinerne Meer, and the grass mountains of Pinzgau spread out below. Descend via Kammereggalm where you can grab a quick alpine snack of cider and bacon bread. Expect about 14 km of walking over 5 hours 50 minutes with 1,200m of elevation gain and descent.

- Day 6
Leisurely Forest and Meadow Walk
End your week with a much easier pace. Follow the young Saalach to Ratzenstein-Höhe using the Stammgäste trail, then cross a wooded ridge to Neunbrunnen. There's an idyllic forest lake where you can relax by the shore for a bit. After that, walk back to Schloss Kammer through fields and meadows at a leisurely pace. This hike covers about 9 km with 3 hours 30 minutes of walking and only 200m of elevation gain and loss, making it a nice way to wind down before you leave.

Departure
Have your final breakfast at Hotel/Landgasthof Schloss Kammer before you head out for departure. It's a good time to reflect on the week and maybe grab a last coffee while taking in the surroundings one more time.
