- Day 1
Villach
You'll arrive in Villach and spend your first day getting to know the old town's character. Start by wandering through the historic streets, taking in the architecture and local shops. Cross the Drau bridge for views along the water, then take your time on the riverside promenade where it's nice to just walk and observe. The main square has an Italian feel to it, so grab a coffee or lunch there and watch the locals. It's a relaxed introduction to the region.

- Day 2
Lake Wörthersee
A short train ride takes you to Lake Wörthersee for a full day of walking. You'll start by checking out the elegant villas along the Brahmspromenade, then head up to Hohe Gloriette where the turquoise-green lake views are worth the climb. After that, walk through the green forests to reach Forstsee. Later, continue along the lakeside promenade past the casino and castle on your way to Velden. It's a good mix of cultural sights and natural scenery.

After taking in the views, you'll descend via Europe's highest closed slide, which is a fun change of pace. In the afternoon, take a boat across the lake to see the famous peninsula and church of Maria Wörth from the water. It's quite a full day with a good variety of activities.

Lake Millstätter See - Döbriach
Train travels through the Drau Valley to Spittal in the morning. Once there, you'll explore the castle park and the Renaissance Porcia Castle before hiking through the spectacular Lieser Gorge to reach Seeboden on Lake Millstätter See. Follow the riverside path along the water with beautiful deep blue lake views, then finish the day with a boat crossing to Döbriach where you're staying overnight. It's a day that combines history with serious hiking and water travel.

Hohe Wand is another option, or you could explore field and lakeside paths where swimming opportunities exist in Döbriach bay. Pick what sounds right for your energy level and interests that day.

Villach

Then a short train ride brings you back to Villach where you'll celebrate the week with a drink on the main square.
