Spend some time walking around the shops, then come back to Palermo for a walking tour through the Old Town where you'll see the Cathedral and other historic spots. - Day 3Palermo - Erice - Marsala - AgrigentoGet an early breakfast, then travel to Erice, a medieval village sitting high on Monte San Giuliano. You'll walk through the narrow lanes in the morning, then head to Marsala for wine tasting and lunch at a local tavern. Later, the coach takes you to Agrigento where you'll see the Valley of the Temples UNESCO site with Greek monuments like the Temple of Concord and Temple of Hercules. The historical center of Ibla has baroque palaces and churches worth seeing, including the San Giorgio gate, Giardini Iblei gardens, San Giuseppe church, and the Cathedral of San Giorgio. You'll also see the Church of the Souls in Purgatory and Cosentini Palace before heading back to the hotel for dinner. - Meals

The recently restored Cathedral of San Nicolò and town center are on your list. From there, you'll drive along the south coast to Syracuse on the southeastern tip. Explore Ortygia island with its baroque churches and medieval palaces, then continue to Taormina perched in the hills. Check into your central hotel and have dinner. - Meals

You'll see the landscape of ancient lava fields and black magma rock, and if weather allows, you can go up to around 1800 meters at the summit. Back in Taormina by afternoon, you'll have free time to walk around town and explore on your own. - Meals
