Itinerary
- Day 1
Puerto Maldonado
You'll arrive in Puerto Maldonado and board a scenic boat that takes you down the Madre de Dios River to reach your jungle lodge. After settling in, there's a local lunch featuring regional ingredients. From there, you'll walk the Concepcion trails to get oriented with the rainforest ecosystem and what makes it unique. As the day winds down, you'll head out on a motorized canoe for a sunset ride, keeping an eye out for nocturnal animals that start moving as it gets darker, followed by some time to look up at the night sky.

- Day 2
Puerto Maldonado
This one starts early with breakfast before sunrise, then you're heading into Tambopata National Reserve and Lake Sandoval for a canoe tour where you'll see giant otters, macaws, howler monkeys, and whatever else crosses your path. After lunch back at the lodge, you'll experience the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway suspended 28 meters up in the trees, which gives you a different perspective on the canopy animals and birds living up there. Later that evening, you'll do a nocturnal jungle walk or canoe to listen to all the sounds that come alive after dark.

- Day 3
Puerto Maldonado
You start by checking out the organic bio-garden to learn about tropical medicinal plants and how they're used locally, then head over to the Palmetum to see the palm collection. After that, you'll paddle a wooden canoe through the horseshoe-shaped Cocha Concepcion, watching for birds and listening to howler monkeys call. During the afternoon, you'll come across the historic remains of the Fitzcarrald steamboat, which is a neat bit of history in the middle of the jungle. The day finishes with an evening clay lick excursion where mammals gather to feed on mineral-rich soil.

- Day 4
Puerto Maldonado Departure
You'll have a final breakfast at the lodge, then board a canoe back to Puerto Maldonado town. From there, you're transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
