Bangkok
You'll land in Bangkok and meet your tour representative for an unescorted transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. Consider getting a traditional Thai massage, trying some local food, or heading up to one of the rooftop bars to watch the sunset over the city.

- Day 2
Bangkok
This morning you'll tour Bangkok's key Buddhist temples starting with Wat Traimit to see its famous 3-metre solid gold Buddha. From there, head to Wat Pho for the 46-metre Reclining Buddha, then walk through the Grand Palace complex with its multiple ceremonial buildings and Emerald Buddha temple. You'll finish the day at a local lapidary factory browsing jewelry, handicrafts and silk.

Bangkok
After breakfast you'll head out to Maeklong Railway Market to watch a train pass right through the market in a unique spectacle. Later, travel to Damnoen Saduak floating market where merchants paddle canoes filled with fresh fruits and vegetables through busy canals. By afternoon you'll head back to Bangkok.

Bangkok to Chiang Mai
Breakfast at the hotel comes first, then you'll transfer to Bangkok airport for your domestic flight to Chiang Mai. Once you arrive and reach your hotel, a guide will pick you up at 1:30 pm for a tour of the old town. You'll visit multiple temples including Wat Suan Dok with its 48-metre chedi, Wat Phra Sing, the 14th-century Wat Chedi Luang, plus Wat Chet Yot and Wat Chiang Man with elephant sculptures.

Chiang Mai
Start with breakfast, then head to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. You can either climb the 309 naga steps or take the cable car up to enjoy city views and the temple structures. After that, explore Wararot Market and the fragrant flower market. By evening you'll have a traditional khan toke dinner with northern Thai food and cultural performances inspired by the Lanna kingdom.

Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai
You'll have breakfast and then visit Elephant Poopoopaper Park (or Elephant Jungle Sanctuary at Grand Canyon starting in November), an outdoor museum where you can learn about making paper from elephant fibers through eight pavilions. Grab lunch afterward, then travel via Doi Saket with a stop at Wat Rong Khun, the all-white temple from the 1990s, before arriving in Chiang Rai in the afternoon.

Chiang Rai to Phuket
After breakfast you'll head to Chiang Sean for panoramic views of the Golden Triangle where Laos, Myanmar and Thailand meet at the Mekong River. Take a roughly 30-minute boat ride through the area. You'll have lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to Chiang Rai Airport. From there, fly to Bangkok then catch a connecting flight to Phuket, arriving at your hotel later.
