We booked a trip for 4 people to the United Arab Emirates and Oman with SKR for March 2025. The round trip included a total of 3 flights: outbound flight to Dubai and return flight from Oman with a change in Dubai. In the offer, SKR promised us all 3 flights with Emirates Airline. This was very important to us, as we appreciate the quality and service of Emirates, especially on longer routes. After paying the price, we received the travel documents, where SKR once again confirmed Emirates for all 3 flights. Unfortunately, only the outward flight to Dubai was actually with Emirates. One day before the return journey we were informed by email that we would not be flying home with Emirates, but that we would be flying from Muscat to Dubai and from Dubai to Europe with the low-cost airline FlyDubai. FlyDubai is the RyanAir of Asia. It started with the fact that we had to pay to reserve seats at check-in in Oman. The seats allocated to us by FlyDubai were far apart. The rest was also like RyanAir. When we reported the problem to SKR a few days later, we were told that SKR was not responsible and that code-sharing was to blame. Code sharing allows an airline to have the flights booked with it operated by another airline. SKR overlooks the fact that airlines always inform the customer when purchasing a ticket which airline will actually operate the flight in question, stating: "operated by XYZ". This means that passengers already know which airline they will be traveling with at the time of booking. However, as we did not book the flights ourselves, but entrusted this task to the professionals at SKR, we had no indication of a return flight with FlyDubai. SKR knew from the beginning, or should have known as a tour operator, that only one of the 3 flights would be with Emirates. Nevertheless, SKR sold us 3 flights with Emirates. The reaction of SKR is all the more disappointing.
