Overnight Flight to Colombo
Your flight departs tonight, and you'll land in Colombo tomorrow morning. The overnight travel sets you up to hit the ground ready to go once you arrive in Sri Lanka.

Colombo
After arriving in Colombo, you'll check out the city's temple and mosque scene mixed in with colonial buildings and modern structures. Walking along Galle Face Green gives you a chance to see the waterfront lined with stalls selling local snacks. Dinner comes later, giving you your first real taste of being here.

Landmarks Galle Face Green - Day 3
Anawilundawa - Anuradhapura
You'll drive through tropical landscapes heading toward Chilaw, then walk through Anawilundawa Nature Reserve with a guide looking for birds and wildlife. From there, it's on to Anuradhapura, the ancient royal city where you'll spend the night.

Sigiriya
Anuradhapura shows you the old palaces and temples scattered among the ruins of what was once the Sinhalese capital. You'll make your way to the sacred Bodhi tree as a pilgrimage stop. Then it's a drive to Sigiriya for a two-night stay.

Sigiriya

Kandy

Kandy
You'll spend time at the Temple of the Tooth, one of the holiest Buddhist sites where Buddha's tooth is preserved. Bandarawela
Heading toward Nuwara Eliya, you'll visit a tea plantation and factory to learn how Ceylon tea gets made. After exploring the British colonial architecture, you take a scenic train ride from Nanu Oya to Bandarawela through the highlands, watching steep mountains, streams, and tea fields pass by.

Landmarks Nuwara Eliya - Day 9
Kataragama - Tissamaharama
You'll hike to Little Adams Peak (about 4 km, roughly 1.5 hours, 140 vertical meters) for views over tea plantations, Ella Rock, and Ella Waterfall. Later, you drive to Kataragama to see the Hindu and Buddhist temple complex during evening ceremonies before heading to Tissamaharama for the night.

Galle - Kalutara
A morning jeep safari through Yala National Park gives you chances to spot elephants, water buffalo, monkeys, crocodiles, and possibly leopards. The drive along the coast toward Galle passes traditional stilt fishermen. You'll explore the Dutch Fort and its lighthouse, then continue to Kalutara for a three-night stay.
