- Marc· June 16th, 2025I went on a self-driving tour with Destination Services Costa Rica, and it exceeded all my expectations. The operator was super responsive and provided amazing support. The local operator did a phenomenal job of putting together a custom package for me. Their know-how and guidance made it possible for me to explore parts of the country I never would have discovered on my own. Every recommendation was just spot-on, especially the hand-picked accommodation - the Drake Bay Wilderness Resort - a truly amazing resort right by the beach, great staff, delicious food, and a national park right in front of your doorstep. The absolute highlight of the trip was visiting Corcovado National Park. I was lucky enough to spot all four monkey species, a Tapir, Toucans and even a Puma. Because it was the rainy season, the tours were uncrowded, which made for an incredibly intimate and personal experience. Thank you, Destination Services, for an incredible adventure.Show more
- Cindy· June 2nd, 2025Overall the package was great and despite some constructive feedback, I do rate it as excellent/5 stars. - Package included breakfast and a few additional meals, but be aware that Costa Rica is pricey. You can find good deals/meals, but be ready. - Each day included a tour/activity, but found there was a decent amount of downtime that could be filled up with other activities, which again can be fairly pricey and it will add up quickly. - I wish I could have had an extra night in both Manuel Antonio and Monteverde. You lose some mornings due to travel and these towns deserve more time. La Fortuna and Tortuguero having 2 days was perfect. - All hotels were great, but with La Fortuna, it was located fairly far from the towns center and wish I had something closer. - All drivers, tour guides and hotel staff were incredibly kind. Tour guides were amazing at providing recos for both the town you were in and for spots in your next tour stop. All in all, got to see a good amount and left wanting to see more.
