- Day 1
Lima
You'll land at Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport and head to your hotel to get settled in. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please. If you feel like it, take a walk along the Miraflores Boardwalk where you can catch the sea breeze and watch the sunset.

- Day 2
Lima
After breakfast, your guide takes you through Lima's old district. You'll see San Martin Plaza first, then move on to Plaza de Armas to check out the Cathedral of Lima, Casa Aliaga, and the Monastery of San Francisco, all dating back to the Spanish colonial period. The day wraps up at the Larco Museum where you can see pre-Hispanic gold and silver pieces.

Lima to Arequipa
Following breakfast, you head to the airport for your flight to Arequipa, which takes about 1.5 hours. Your guide and driver meet you upon arrival and start the city tour right away. You'll walk through Plaza de Armas and see the nearby Jesus Church and colonial buildings, then continue to the Santa Catalina Monastery, the largest women's monastery in the world. By evening you're back at your hotel.

Arequipa to Chivay
After breakfast, you drive toward Chivay, covering about 162 km in roughly 3 hours. Along the way you pass Chachani and Chucura volcanoes where you might spot vicunas and alpacas. There's a stop at a volcano viewpoint to take in the scenery. Once you reach your hotel and check in, the afternoon and evening are free to wander around the traditional village.

Chivay to Puno
You'll spend the day at Colca Canyon, the second deepest canyon in the world, where you search for the best viewpoints and watch for condors overhead. The visit includes the small villages of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque. After lunch on your own in Chivay, you drive toward Puno, a 6-hour journey with photo stops along the way.

Puno
This full day involves a motorboat trip from the pier to the Uros Islands (Floating Islands) where you'll learn how locals live on the water. Then you head to Taquile Island for a visit with a local family and a simple lunch included. You're back at your hotel by evening with time to yourself.

- Day 7
Puno to Cusco
After breakfast, you board a shared bus heading to Cusco, a roughly 10-hour journey. The first stop is Pucara to see Inca cultural relics. Later you reach La Raya at 4,335 meters (14,222 ft.) high for views of snow-capped mountains. There's a buffet lunch in Sicuani town, then you continue to Raqchi to see the Inca Temple. Before arriving in Cusco, you stop at Andahuaylillas to view the San Pedro Chapel.

- Day 8
Cusco
After breakfast, your guided tour of Cusco starts at Plaza de Armas with the Cusco Cathedral. You'll walk through Inca streets to see Qorikancha, the Temple of Sun. By car you head to Sacsayhuaman to see impressive stone walls and the Temple of the Moon. The tour finishes at Tambomachay, the water temple, before you return to your hotel.

Cusco to Aguas Calientes
Following breakfast, you drive to Chinchero to explore its Main Square with intact Inca walls and a Colonial Church. At a local textile center, artisans show you traditional textile methods. Later you head through rolling hills to Moray to see Inca ruins with concentric terraces, then stop at the Maras Salt Mines. You'll have lunch on your own in Ollantaytambo, then transfer to the railway station for a 1.5-hour train ride to Aguas Calientes.

- Day 10
Aguas Calientes to Urubamba Village
After breakfast, your guide walks you to the nearby bus station for the trip to Machu Picchu. You'll get a 2-hour guided tour with detailed information about this heritage site. By afternoon you're back in Aguas Calientes for lunch on your own (your guide can make recommendations). You head to the railway station on your own and catch a train back to Ollantaytambo, where your guide and driver meet you for the 30-minute drive to your hotel in Urubamba Village.

Urubamba to Cusco

There's time to browse the market for handicrafts and local goods. On the way back to Cusco, you stop at Awanacancha to see alpacas, llamas, and guanacos up close.

You fly to Puerto Maldonado in the morning, a trip taking roughly 1.5 hours. After you land, your driver takes you to the pier where you board a boat to your jungle lodge about 45 minutes away. Lunch is at the lodge, then you head out with a guide to explore the Amazon Jungle where you might see toucans and macaws. Before dinner, you can look for caimans along the river bank.

Puerto Maldonado
Early in the morning, you hike to the Parrot Clay-Lick to watch different kinds of parrots lick the clay formed by river erosion, then return for breakfast. After resting, a boat takes you along the Madre de Dios River to the Tambopata National Reserve for wildlife searching. You'll visit Sandoval Lake to see birds and monkeys like hoatzins, cormorants, squirrel monkeys, and capuchins. On the way back you watch for nocturnal animals and enjoy the sunset. Later, relax in a hammock under the stars.
