Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Whitehorse

    Your guide meets you at Whitehorse airport and takes you to the hotel. You'll meet everyone in your group, go through a quick orientation, then settle in for the night.

  2. Day 2

    Whitehorse to Skagway

    After breakfast, you'll check out Whitehorse before heading south through some beautiful landscape including the world's smallest desert and Emerald Lake. You pass through Carcross village and over White Pass to reach Skagway, Alaska, where you walk around town and hike a coastal trail before camping for the night.

  3. Day 3

    Skagway to Haines to Haines Junction

    You start with the restored Gold Rush buildings in Skagway, then board a ferry heading to Haines. From the boat, watch for seals, whales, and bald eagles as you travel through Lynn Fjord. After arriving in Haines, you drive over the Coast Mountains along the historic Dalton Trail North, crossing into the Yukon to reach Haines Junction and Kluane Park.

  4. Day 4

    Kluane National Park

    It's a full day in Kluane National Park with a hike to Sheep Mountain showing views of the 80-kilometer Kluane Lake and the northern Coast Mountains. If weather cooperates, there's an optional scenic flight over the park's interior with Canada's tallest mountains and massive ice fields (65 characters remaining).

  5. Day 5

    Kluane National Park to Whitehorse to Klondike Highway

    You break camp and do a shorter hike on another Kluane park trail. Then it's a two hour drive back to Whitehorse on the Alaska Highway, and you continue on the Klondike Highway to a remote spot where you set up camp and spend the evening by the fire.

    Klondike Highway to Tombstone Territorial Park

    From here, you head north on the Klondike Highway to the Dempster Highway, then drive 75km on gravel to reach Tombstone Territorial Park. The dramatic peaks here sit right at the edge of the Arctic tundra. You'll camp in this remote location for the night.

    Tombstone Territorial Park to Dawson City

    After packing up, you spend the day hiking on ridges with views across the tundra where caribou herds migrate through. Later, you head to Dawson City, the famous Gold Rush town, and walk through its historic streets to get a feel for the place.

    You have all day to explore Dawson City and its Gold Rush history. Drive into Bonanza and Eldorado Creeks with the chance to visit an active gold mine. Head up Midnight Dome for views of town and wilderness. Walk through the Gold Rush era buildings and visit nearby historic sites and exhibits on foot.

    Dawson City to Top of the World Highway to Alaska

    Take the Top of the World Highway, a gravel ridge road through high tundra that's one of North America's finest high roads. You pass through the quirky towns of Chicken and Action Wade Camp before reaching the edge of Denali National Park.

  10. Day 10

    Denali Highway

    Drive west on the Denali Highway, one of Alaska's most remote roads built on glacial eskers across a huge floodplain along the park's border. Plenty of short hikes are available to explore. If weather allows, there's optional time for a scenic flight over Denali, North America's tallest peak at 6,193 meters.

    Denali National Park

    Take a National Park shuttle bus into one of North America's most scenic landscapes, or hike through the park on foot. When weather's good, the road offers great Denali views and chances to see wolves, Dall sheep, moose, caribou, grizzly bears, foxes, coyotes, and eagles.

    Denali to Anchorage to Seward

    Head south on the George Parks Highway through Alaska's interior toward Anchorage. You'll follow the Seward Highway along the Turnagain Arm, named after Captain Cook's failed searches for the Northwest Passage. Watch for beluga whales in the world's highest tides. Drive to Portage, then continue down the Kenai Peninsula to Seward.

    Seward

    Hike in the Seward area with several good options, or try another trail in the afternoon. The main event is an optional six hour marine life cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park. You'll see seals, sea lions, sea otters, orca, and humpback whales. Moose and black bears are on the shorelines, and calving ice at Bear Glacier creates big waves.

    Seward to Anchorage

    Head back up the Turnagain Arm toward Anchorage. The rest of the day is yours to explore Alaska's largest city. Check out Lakes Hood and Spenard where up to 800 floatplanes take off daily. Visit the aviation museum, downtown's Museum of History and Art, or shop. Explore bars and microbreweries. Share a nice dinner with the group tonight.

    is it still possible to still book this trip? which physical condition Level is require? I am nearly 60, fit but not used to extrem sport.

      Yes, this trip is available and we would be happy to have you on board. There will be 2-3 longer hiking days on this trip (4-6hrs), plus several shorter ones. It is more of an intermediate hiking trip, so definitely nothing extreme.
