Itinerary
- Day 1
Anchorage
Your guide picks you up at the airport and takes you to your hotel in Anchorage. After you settle in, there's a brief group orientation to go over the itinerary and meet everyone you'll be traveling with for the next couple of weeks.
- Day 2
Anchorage to Seward
Following breakfast, you'll start exploring Anchorage by checking out Lakes Hood and Spenard, where around 800 floatplanes operate daily. You can head to the aviation museum or Museum of History and Art downtown if those interest you. By afternoon, you'll drive south toward Seward along the coast.

Seward
Morning includes a hike in the Seward area to get some exercise and see the landscape. Afternoon is flexible - either take another hike or sign up for the optional six-hour marine life cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park where you might see seals, sea lions, sea otters, whales, and glaciers calving into the water.

Seward to Denali National Park
You'll drive north from Seward along Turnagain Arm, a scenic route known for its high tides and beluga whales. The drive takes you past waterfalls and snow-capped peaks through Portage, then continues on the George Parks Highway heading toward Denali. Weather permitting, there's an optional one-hour scenic flight over the park itself.

- Day 5
Denali National Park
Now at Denali National Park, you can either take a shuttle bus into the park or explore on foot. On clear days, you'll see Denali itself along with wolves, Dall sheep, moose, caribou, grizzly bears, foxes, coyotes, and eagles roaming the landscape.

Denali to Denali Highway
After leaving Denali, you'll head up the Denali Highway, a remote road built on glacial ridges that crosses a vast floodplain. This section offers plenty of spots to stop and hike along the way as you drive through the wilderness.

Dawson City
The route crosses into Canada via the Top of the World Highway, passing through the high tundra. You'll cross the highest checkpoint between Canada and the US at Little Gold Creek, then pass through the quirky northern towns of Chicken and Action Wade Camp before reaching Dawson City.

Dawson City
Spend the full day in Dawson City checking out this historic gold rush town. You can visit the active gold mine in Bonanza and Eldorado Creeks, drive up Midnight Dome for town views, and walk through the false-fronted buildings and historic sites that remain from when Dawson was the major center for the region.

Tombstone Mountains
An early start takes you two hours up the Dempster Highway into the Tombstone Mountains. This remote 730-kilometre highway is Canada's only road to the Arctic coast, and you'll spend the day exploring dramatic peaks and vast tundra where caribou herds migrate hundreds of miles each year.

- Day 10
Tombstone Mountains to Whitehorse
After breaking camp and taking in the morning views, you'll head toward Whitehorse on the Klondike Highway. The drive includes stops at Five Finger Rapids and old roadhouses along the way. You'll set up camp near Whitehorse for the night and have some time around the campfire.

Whitehorse to Kluane National Park
Following breakfast, you'll make a quick stop in Whitehorse before driving toward Haines Junction and then into Kluane National Park. There's a hike on one of the park's trails, and then you'll set up camp for two nights. After dinner, you can rest up for a full day of hiking tomorrow.

- Day 12
Kluane National Park
The full day is dedicated to hiking on one of Kluane's trails toward Sheep Mountain, which offers views of the 80-kilometre-long Kluane Lake and the massive peaks beyond. If weather cooperates, you can take an optional flight over the park to see Canada's largest mountains and some of the world's biggest non-polar ice fields.

- Day 13
Kluane to Skagway
Leaving Kluane behind, you'll drive south to Haines, Alaska. At Dalton Cache you'll cross back into the US. After a short break, you'll board the ferry through Lynn Fjord to Skagway, where seals, whales, and bald eagles are often spotted. Once there, you can either explore the restored gold rush town or do a short hike before camping one final time.

Skagway to Whitehorse
Walking through Skagway, you'll have time to explore the town and take a coastal trail. Then you'll drive north to Whitehorse through White Pass in the Coast Mountains, stopping in Carcross for coffee and the views. On the way, you'll see the smallest desert in the world and the striking colors of Emerald Lake before checking into your hotel in Whitehorse.
