Itinerary
- Day 1
Antananarivo
Your day starts before dawn with a 5:30 am hotel pickup to make the most of daylight. First stop is Lemurs' Park where you'll see at least seven lemur species in their natural habitat, which gives a real sense of Madagascar's wildlife. From there, you head to Ambohimanga Rova (Blue Hill), a UNESCO site that's significant for understanding Merina ethnic history and the island's royal heritage. After lunch at a picnic spot, you move into Antananarivo's city center for the afternoon, walking through three different levels of the urban area. You'll pass Independence Avenue, check out Soarano Station, see various palaces and museums scattered throughout. By evening you're back at your hotel, having covered quite a bit of ground in one full day.
