Itinerary
- Day 1
Arusha to Arusha National Park
After breakfast, you'll head from Arusha or Moshi toward Arusha National Park. Once there, you can pick how you want to spend the day. A half-day or full-day game drive takes you past Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater, or if you'd rather be on the water, there's a guided canoe safari available. For something different, you could do a walking safari through the forest instead. Feel free to mix and match activities, though the canoe and walking options cost extra. By late afternoon, you'll head back to Arusha.

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
This morning after breakfast, you'll drive about two hours from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park. Along the way, stop at Mto Wa Mbu, a market town where you can learn about local cultures and pick up souvenirs. Once in the park, look for the famous tree-climbing lions draped across acacia branches. Bird watchers have plenty to see, from flamingos to lilac-breasted rollers and various raptors. After exploring the park, head to your accommodation for dinner.

Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
An early breakfast gets you ready for the nearly four-hour drive toward the Serengeti. You'll travel through rainforests in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where cape buffalo, baboons, elephants, and leopards roam. Two optional stops are available at extra cost, the Oldupai Gorge Museum or a Maasai boma for traditional dance and village visits. After lunch at a park picnic area, you'll enter the Serengeti to see its expansive savannah and wildlife. Settle in at your accommodation for dinner.

- Day 4
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you'll drive back through the Serengeti along a different route to Ngorongoro Crater National Park. This route gives you another shot at spotting wildlife you might have missed. Massive herds of wildebeest and zebras move together across the landscape, and you'll see giraffes, antelopes, gazelles, elephants, and predators like cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and lions. Dinner and an overnight stay happen either on the crater rim or in nearby Karatu Town.

- Day 5
Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you'll head to Ngorongoro Crater and stop at the panoramic viewpoint. From there, you get a view of this massive caldera with over 120 mammal species, including the Big Five. From your open-top vehicle, search for endangered black rhinoceros and watch for large hippo populations. You'll spot predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas alongside herbivores such as wildebeest, zebras, antelopes, and buffalo. Lunch happens by the hippo pool, then you return to Karatu for dinner.

Landmarks Ngorongoro Crater - Day 6
Karatu to Tarangire National Park
You'll leave early and head south to Tarangire, a national park that doesn't get as much attention as some others. Inside the park, the Tarangire River winds through acacia and baobab trees, and wildlife comes through constantly. During dry season, thousands of animals migrate here from the Masai steppe looking for water, so you'll see dozens of species including endangered Greater Kudu, Fringe-Eared Oryx, and Ashy Starlings. Lunch is a picnic by the river with views, though keep your food secure from local monkeys. Late afternoon, you'll drive back to Arusha.
