The hotel in the middle of the Serengeti Park was a dream. Unfortunately, the communication/pick-up was a downside. There is no emergency number for World Adventure Tours and my cab arrived 3 hours after I landed. The food in the hotels was also more for survival and not for enjoyment. Another guest was packed for our tour, which was only communicated after arrival. Our guide was super nice, both the car and the information given during the safari rather needy, but okay for us. - DPDelio· March 18th, 2025Hi Joyce The safari was everything and more. The grand children were over the moon with all they saw and experienced. The tour guides Danny and Nicholas were exceptionally knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. The staff at the hotels were ever so friendly, accommodating and treated the children with much tenderness and love. It was a pleasure to be there. The only issue that plagued us throughout was the seemingly lack of knowledge about vegan and gluten free diets. Our vegan had a diet of rice with green beans and potatoes for most lunches and dinners. It was a diet loaded heavily with carbs and scant protein. Our gluten free traveller didn’t fare any better. Also Ngorongoro Wild Camp needs to repair the plumbing in the shower stalls. The taps were stiff and made adjusting the water temperature extremely difficult if not impossible. All in all, it was a great vacation with memories that we will treasure. Joyce was amazing to deal with as we ironed out our ever changing requirements. He was kind , knowledgable and was willing to go out of his way to adjust the trip to our interests! We saw the big five, even some rhinos as Izrael has the eye of an eagle! He knows all the paths and all the animals and answered all of our questions. We were travelling with 3 years old twins and the kids loved him as well. We saw 4 of the Big Five but none of that really matters because each day was filled with awe and nature's beauty. Savor the special experience that the unpredictable of nature gufts you. I was disappointed about the use of radios reporting animal sightings because it caused a convergence of vehicles and created a noisy and chaotic scene as vehicles jockeyed for the best position. Seened so disruptive to the animals. That's nit specific to any one tour operator, as they all did it. But again, savor what you see. Also, all of the hotel service staff were so warm and welcoming. Our driver and guide Zamo knew exactly what we wanted and did his best to get us in the places that allowed us to have a great experience watching all of the Big Five, and so much more! His experience and knowledge of all the parks was impressive. We saw so many animals and birds it was incredible, and Zamo knew all the details of each one, which made it that much better for all of us. The food was pretty simple, but you never left hungry.
