Belgrade
Your driver picks you up at Nikola Tesla Airport and takes you through New Belgrade, where you'll see bold Socialist-era buildings on the way to your hotel. After settling in, you have the afternoon and evening to yourself. Later, head out to Skadarlija, the bohemian neighborhood with narrow cobblestone streets. The area fills with traditional kafanas where you can try local food and catch live music.

- Day 2
Belgrade
Today you'll see Belgrade's different architectural layers on a guided tour. You'll pass through Socialist Brutalist structures, check out the modern Belgrade Waterfront, and see key landmarks like the Palace of Serbia. Next, the tour moves to Dedinje district with its grand villas and museums, then to the Temple of Saint Sava, an important Orthodox sanctuary. Walk through the pedestrian zone and Republic Square. You can optionally taste traditional Serbian coffee and rakija at a historic tavern, tour the Belgrade Fortress with river views, or take an evening cruise on the Sava and Danube rivers.

Belgrade to Zlatibor Mountain
After checking out, you'll head south to Oplenac to explore Serbian royal heritage, including the royal mausoleum and historic wine estates. At a century-old winery in the Šumadija region, you'll sample three wine varieties and learn about the Royal Karadjordjevic dynasty and local winemaking. Then you drive to Zlatibor Mountain, Serbia's first royal resort. Check in to your mountain hotel and take a relaxing walk around the town. Dinner showcases traditional Serbian regional cuisine (52°F/11°C mountain temps expected).

Zlatibor Mountain to Sarajevo
After checking out, visit Drvengrad, a wooden ethno-village filmmaker Emir Kusturica built featuring wooden structures, galleries, shops, and a cinema. If interested, ride the retro Nostalgia train along the historic Šargan Eight narrow-gauge railway for mountain views and tunnels. From there, continue to Višegrad to see Andricgrad, another Kusturica creation built on the Drina River near the UNESCO-protected bridge from Ivo Andric's novel. Grab lunch, then drive to Sarajevo and check into your hotel.

Sarajevo
Start at Vječna Vatra, a WWII liberation memorial, then explore Sarajevo's cultural and historical sites. Optionally try the famous burek at a local bakery and visit the Sacred Heart Cathedral and 16th century Orthodox Church to see the city's diverse heritage. Walk through Baščaršija old town, try local ćevapi, experience the local coffee tradition, and visit Vijećnica (City Hall), Latin Bridge, the 16th century Bezistan market, Gazi Husrev-beg mosque, and Sahat Tower. End with baklava. The afternoon is yours to wander at your own pace.

Sarajevo to Trebinje
Check out and drive to Mostar. Walk through the city to see the iconic Old Bridge (UNESCO site), Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque, Crooked Bridge, and the old tanner's quarter Tabhana. You can optionally explore copper modeling at a craftsman's workshop. Later, take free time for lunch on the Neretva River with Old Bridge views. Continue to Trebinje, visiting Hercegovačka Gračanica, a Serbian Orthodox temple with spectacular views and frescoes. Explore Trebinje's center, including Arslanagić Bridge and Poet's Square with its 400-year-old plane trees, then check in.

Trebinje to Budva
After checking out, visit Trebinje's local market for an authentic morning experience. You can optionally sample fresh cheese, dried meats, sun-ripened fruits from small local producers, and homemade juices. Then drive to Dubrovnik, exploring Stradun (the main street), Placa Square, Pile Gate, Rector's Palace, City Walls, and the port. You'll learn about Game of Thrones filming locations and the Republic of Ragusa. Continue to Budva, Montenegro's main tourist destination. Walk through the medieval Old Town, relax on sandy beaches, visit churches including the Church of the Holy Trinity, and enjoy free time for seafood and local wines before checking in.

Budva to Kotor and Perast
Head to Boka Bay, a less-known area with rich history and natural beauty. Visit Perast, a charming baroque-style settlement. You can optionally take a boat to Our Lady of the Rocks, a man-made island with a church featuring local artist paintings, silver votive tablets, and sacred tapestry. Continue to Kotor, a 12th-14th century Mediterranean town and UNESCO site. Walk through the old paved streets, visit the churches of Saint Nicholas and Saint Luke, and see the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon. You'll have free time to explore or have lunch on quiet squares, then return to Budva for the evening.

Budva to Tirana
After checking out from Budva, travel along the Adriatic coast. Stop at Old Bar at Mount Rumija's foot, with centuries-old stone walls and cobbled streets forming an open-air museum. Grab coffee or a traditional dessert at a local café if you like. Then cross into Albania and experience authentic agrotourism with farm-to-table dining featuring fresh organic ingredients and traditional dishes. Drive to Tirana, Albania's capital on the Lana River. Explore Skanderbeg Square with the Lord Skanderbeg statue, see Mussolini-era architecture, the Et'hem Bey Mosque, National Museum of History, Clock Tower, and colorful murals throughout. Tirana to Skopje
Check out and head toward North Macedonia's capital. Stop in Ohrid, called the 'cradle of Slavic literacy' and a UNESCO World Heritage site combining cultural and natural significance. You'll see one of the world's oldest lakes with crystal-clear water reflecting mountain surroundings. The city has over 300 Orthodox churches and monasteries serving as a spiritual center and former First Bulgarian Empire capital. Continue to Skopje, check in to your hotel, and enjoy your evening free. Consider drinks with Vardar River views or try traditional Macedonian cuisine like 'tavče gravče' and 'mastika.'

Skopje to Matka Canyon
