Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu Arrival

    When you land at Tribhuwan International Airport, Mountain Ascend Treks will be there to greet you with a banner. If it's evening or nighttime, they'll take you straight to the hotel. Arriving during the day means you'll head to the office for your trip briefing, then you can wander around Thamel, and handle the remaining paperwork and final payment. Don't forget your passport (needs to be valid for at least 6 months), three passport photos, and proof of travel insurance.

  2. Day 2

    Bhaktapur - Nagarkot

    After breakfast, you'll spend the day doing combined sightseeing in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur with a city guide. You'll visit Kathmandu Durbar Square (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Boudhanath Stupa, and have the option to stop by Pashupatinath Temple and Monkey Temple. Then you'll check out Bhaktapur's old streets, temples, and see traditional pottery being made. By afternoon, you're driving about an hour to reach Nagarkot.

  3. Day 3

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding

    You'll fly from Kathmandu to Lukla at Tenzing-Hillary Airport, where there are typically 18 to 20 flights daily if weather cooperates. Once on the ground, you start trekking from Lukla down to Phakding, walking through thick forests, hills, and valleys. Along the way, you'll catch views of Kusum Kangru mountain in the distance.

  4. Day 4

    Phakding to Namche

    The trek goes from Phakding to Namche, and you'll follow the Dudh Koshi River through pine and cedar forests most of the way. You'll pass through several ethnic Sherpa villages before arriving at Namche, which is the largest Sherpa settlement in Nepal and serves as a major trading center for Tibetan and Nepali goods.

  5. Day 5

    Namche Acclimatization

    This is an acclimatization day, so you're taking it a bit easier. You'll hike up to Syangboche Airport at 3700m, which is possibly the world's highest airport, and then continue to Everest View Hotel for mountain views. On your way back down, stop by the Sherpa Culture Museum to see traditional clothing, musical instruments, and photographs of Mount Everest.

  6. Day 6

    Namche to Tengboche

    You'll trek down into Dudh Kosi Valley and then head uphill to Tengboche, which takes about 5 hours total with most of it being uphill. When you arrive at Tengboche village, you'll see the area's famous monastery. Throughout the day, you'll have great views of Ama Dablam and Mount Everest.

  7. Day 7

    Tengboche to Dingboche

    The trail takes you through forest and across the Imja Khola river, passing through Pangboche village along the way. After that, you'll walk past the Summer Valley pasture and reach Dingboche by the end of the day. You'll see Ama Dablam and Lhotse throughout your walk.

  8. Day 8

    Dingboche to Nagerjun

    You're trekking uphill on a steep and tiring route from Dingboche to Nagerjun, a hilly village sitting above Dingboche in the Chukkung Valley. The challenging climb pays off with views of Lobuche East, Lobuche West, Taboche Peak, Thamserku, Kangtega, Ama Dablam, and Makalu, which is the fifth highest mountain in the world.

  9. Day 9

    Dingboche to Lobuche

    You'll trek upward from Dingboche to reach Khumbu Glacier, where you'll see prayer flags and memorials for fallen climbers and guides. The route continues across moraine surrounded by peaks like Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal. Then you'll head down to the yak pasture near Lobuche for the night.

  10. Day 10

    Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep

    You're heading upward from Gorak Shep Lake through thin air over rocky ground, moraine, and streams until you reach Everest Base Camp itself. From there, you'll see Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori, plus views of the Khumbu Glacier and Icefall. After spending time taking in the views, you'll descend back to Gorakshep for overnight.

  11. Day 11

    Kalapathar to Gorakshep to Pheriche

    Early morning means you're hiking to Kalapathar, the best viewpoint for sunrise views of Mount Everest as it turns golden. After you've got your photos and watched the sunrise, you'll head down to Gorekshep and keep going to Pheriche. On your way, you'll see Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse, and Kalapathar gives you an excellent vantage point for panoramic shots.

  12. Day 12

    Pheriche to Namche

    It's a moderate downhill trek through rhododendron, pine, and juniper forests with decent scenery along the way. You might see pheasants and mountain goats, and you'll eventually reach the Dudh Koshi River and gorge. Before getting to Namche, the trail becomes quite winding, but you'll get views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nuptse.

  13. Day 13

    Namche to Lukla

    You're trekking downhill into the valley and crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Most of the route follows along the Dudh Kosi River itself. When your trail joins with the route back to Lukla, you'll realize you've completed what many people consider the world's best trek.

  14. Day 14

    Kathmandu

    Early morning flight gets you back to Kathmandu. After landing, you can rest at your hotel or go souvenir shopping if Mountain Ascend Treks can help arrange it. In the evening, there's a farewell dinner at a Nepali restaurant with traditional dance, music, and songs. If you're interested, optional activities like jungle safari, biking, or a mountain flight are available.

  15. Day 15

    Kathmandu Departure

    On your final day, Mountain Ascend Treks will arrange an airport transfer about 3 hours before your flight departure. They'll make sure you get to Tribhuwan International Airport on time for your flight home.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before February 17th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 17th, 2026, a minimum payment of 30% is required to confirm your booking with Mountain Ascend Treks Pvt. Ltd.. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
