Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll land at Kathmandu's airport where a company representative will greet you. After a short briefing covering local traditions, shrines, and temples, the transfer to your hotel takes about an hour depending on traffic. This evening is yours to settle in and rest before the trek begins tomorrow.
- Day 2
Kathmandu to Besisahar
This morning you're driving from Kathmandu to Besisahar, which takes around 6 hours. The route follows the Trisuli river through forested areas, passing through villages and agricultural fields. By the time you arrive in Besisahar, you'll have seen plenty of streams, rivers, and paddy fields along the way. Tonight you'll stay in this mountain village.

Nagdi to Chyanche
Starting from Nagdi, the trek heads to Chyanche while following the Marsyandi River. You'll cross a long suspension bridge early on, then pass a thin waterfall with a natural pool where local people bathe. From there, the trail climbs to Bahundanda, and conditions feel noticeably different once you reach higher elevation. There's a small hot spring nearby if you want to check it out, plus good views looking north.

Chyanche to Danaque
Trekking from Chyanche to Danaque means entering the Manang district where the gorge gets more dramatic. Along the way you'll meet Bhote people, who traditionally work as agro-pastoralists and trade across the Himalayas. The path climbs gradually through Bagarchhap before reaching Danaque. You'll notice the houses here have flat roofs because this area gets less rain than lower elevations.

Landmarks Bagarchhap - Day 5
Danaque to Chame
From Danaque, the trek continues to Chame, which is the main town for Manang district. Leaving Bagarchhap behind, the valley narrows and you'll walk through temperate forests with broad-leaved trees. Once in Chame, there are religious buildings to visit and a local hot spring where you can soak after the day's walking.

Landmarks Chame - Day 6
Chame to Pisang
This trek from Chame to Pisang goes through quiet forests of pine, hemlock, and cypress trees. Pisang sits about 1000 meters higher than Chame, so the elevation gain is noticeable. The area sits in the rain shadow of the Himalayas, which means it's quite dry. Views of Annapurna 2 are particularly good from here, especially in clear weather.

Pisang to Manang
From Pisang to Manang, you'll have two route options, both lower and higher paths. They both meet up in Braga, a large village with one of the region's oldest monasteries, around 900 years old and part of the Kargyupa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. After Braga, the trail continues to Manang where you'll see strong Sherpa and Gurung cultural influences in the buildings and community.

Manang
Today you're staying in Manang to help your body adjust to the higher elevation. The location is really something, with lakes, caves, moraines, and hills all around, plus a monastery within reach. Spend time exploring the area or learning about the Sherpa and Gurung traditions that define this place. It's a good idea to take it easy and let your system acclimatize properly.

Landmarks Manang - Day 9
Manang to Khangsar
The trek from Manang to Khangsar involves crossing small tributaries and walking along pleasant meadows with scattered birch groves. Keep watch for herds of blue sheep along the way. This older Tibetan settlement sits along the Marsyandi River, so you'll have good sunset views of the surrounding mountains as the day ends. Facilities are more limited at this elevation.

Landmarks Marsyandi River - Day 10
Khangsar to Tilicho Lake Base Camp
From Khangsar, the trek heads toward Tilicho Lake Base Camp, gaining altitude throughout the day. You'll leave the Marsyandi River behind and climb to a hilltop beside the world's highest lake. At dusk, there's a chance of spotting a snow leopard, though it's rare. This base camp is where people typically prepare before attempting to cross Tilicho Pass.

Landmarks Tilicho Lake - Day 11
Tilicho Lake Base Camp to Khangsar
The route from Tilicho Lake Base Camp back to Khangsar takes you down from the higher elevation. You'll cross small tributaries again and walk past pleasant meadows with occasional birch trees. Blue sheep herds sometimes appear in this area. After the climb, the descent feels good, and the sunset views along the Marsyandi River estuary with mountains surrounding you are quite something.

Khangsar to Manang
Back in Manang for another acclimatization day, giving your body time to recover after reaching higher elevation. You've got plenty to do here including exploring the lakes, caves, and the monastery. This extra day matters a lot for your body's adjustment, so use it to walk around at a relaxed pace and take in the surroundings.

Landmarks Manang - Day 13
Manang to Besisahar
An early morning flight takes you from Manang to Pokhara. After landing, you'll descend through green forest-covered hills down to the valley floor. On the way, the views of one of the biggest gorges in the region are quite nice. By afternoon you're in Pokhara itself, where the pace and environment feel very different from the higher elevations you've been trekking through.

Besisahar to Kathmandu
Driving from Besisahar back to Kathmandu follows the Marsyandi River as it goes upstream. You'll cross the long suspension bridge you saw earlier and pass that thin waterfall with the bathing pool again. The route climbs to Bahundanda where northern views are good, and there's that lesser-known hot spring if you want another soak. The drive back takes most of the day.
