The 5 days Amazon rain forest tour was excellent. The Miyuna lodge is about a 1.5 hour drive and 20 minute boat ride from Iquitos. Our guide Francisco was patient, considerate and adaptable and provided alternate daily outings depending on our needs and the weather (outings are cancelled if it rains - it rained for half a day). There were usually 3 outtings that varied between boat rides, hikes or a combination. The lodge had electricity and wifi in the main area (not the huts allocated to participants that were a short (covered) walking distance from the main lodge). A variety of food was available for each meal which was nicely cooked. Fresh fruit and drinking water is available all day. Participants are advised to bring loose long shirts and pants, bathers, hat, mozzie head net, head torch, insect repellant and sun cream. Long rubber boots were provided by the lodge and were definitely needed to (avoid snake bites and to) cross narrow streams. Thank you Miyuna Lodge for providing an excellent tour. PS: 3 or 4 days would have been enough to see the scenery and many animals.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the package. There was only one snafu when I arrived in Peru and my driver was not there. However, they got me a taxi so it turned out fine. The hotel (San Pedro Monestario) was modest, rustic, and charming. Definitely no frills but it was fine by me. The communication with TR was very good. I was able to get responses in a timely manor. The guide that was assigned as my contact ( I wish I could remember her name!!!!! She was from South Africa) she was amazing!!!! She helped me off-hours, and really made me feel like I had someone to reach out to at all times. Please tell her thank you from me! There was an mudslide on one of my day tours, and I was given a refund for this being cancelled and that was swift and appreciated. Thank you Tour Radar.

    Asked on February 6th, 2023

I am a single traveller looking for a trip. I have following questions: 1. Given that there are ongoing protests throughout Peru and closing down the tourist spots, is the trip is still on schedule. 2. Would you be able to provide pickup & drop off from airport if needed. 3. Do I need to get Yellow fever vaccine?

At this moment we don't recommend doing this tour, at least not in February. We can check again in March, but right now things are quite complicated in Peru.
