Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Lukla

    You'll fly into Lukla early morning and start trekking right away, heading down into the Dudh Koshi Valley. The route takes you through Sherpa villages where you'll get your first look at Kusum Kanguru. Following the river down, you'll cross several suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags before settling in at Phakding for the night.

  2. Day 2

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    Today involves walking alongside the Dudh Koshi river, crossing it multiple times on suspension bridges. You'll see Thamserku and the sacred peak Khumbi Yai Lha come into view. After passing through Monjo where Sagarmatha National Park begins, the trail climbs steeply past a dramatic 50-meter bridge, and Mount Everest appears for the first time before you reach Namche Bazaar.

  3. Day 3

    Namche Bazaar

    This is a day hike from Namche up to the twin villages of Khunde and Khumjung, passing near Syangboche Airport. The altitude gain helps with acclimatization and you'll visit the hospital and school Edmund Hillary built. From here the views include Mount Everest, Lohtse, and Ama Dablam spread across the horizon.

  4. Day 4

    Namche Bazaar to Thyangboche

    The path today is well-maintained with mountains surrounding you on all sides. You'll walk through small settlements and cross the river at Phunki Tenga using a suspension bridge. After that the trail climbs steeply through rhododendron forests before reaching Thyangboche Monastery, where panoramic views of the Himalayan range open up in front of you.

  5. Day 5

    Thyangboche to Dingboche

    Starting from Thyangboche, you trek through Deboche and cross the Dudh Koshi river once more. The route goes upward to Pangboche, home to the region's oldest monastery, then continues through the villages of Somare and Hortse. Island Peak starts becoming visible as you make your way to Dingboche for the night.

  6. Day 6

    Dingboche

    You have flexibility today at Dingboche for acclimatization. Either climb the ridge of Nangkar Tshang for higher altitude and mountain views, or hike further into the valley toward Chukkung. Spend lunch in a relaxed way and use the afternoon to rest and let your body adjust to the elevation.

  7. Day 7

    Dingboche to Lobuche

    A short initial climb leads into a gradual morning ascent. You'll cross a small river and then climb more steeply to Thukla Pass at 4830 meters/15,846 feet, where memorials to fallen mountaineers cover the area. The afternoon walk is easier as you make your way down to Lobuche.

  8. Day 8

    Lobuche to Everest Base Camp

    Start early and walk through undulating terrain toward the Khumbu Glacier. Gorakhshep is where you'll stop for lunch, then continue onto the glacier itself. The final climb takes you to Everest Base Camp where you can see the surrounding peaks up close, then you head back to Gorakhshep the same route.

    Gorakhshep to Kala Patthar to Lobuche

    Wake up early for the hike to Kala Patthar to watch sunrise light up Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Lohtse. After watching the sun come up and spending time with the views, you'll head back down to Gorakhshep for breakfast. From there it's a trek back down to Lobuche.

    Lobuche to Tengboche

    After breakfast you head down toward Tengboche. On the way you'll stop at Pangboche Monastery to look around, then continue downward by crossing the Imja River. After that it's an uphill section to finally reach Tengboche.

    The descent continues toward Namche Bazaar, and you'll walk through many Sherpa villages along stone trails. The surrounding landscape stays with you the whole way down. Once you reach Namche Bazaar, there's time to celebrate and check out the restaurants in town.

  12. Day 12

    Namche Bazaar to Lukla

    Your trek ends as you head back to Lukla from Namche. You'll walk through rhododendron and pine forests inside Sagarmatha National Park where wild mountain animals sometimes appear. The route passes through Phakding and Monjo village, where mani walls and prayer flags line the final sections.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
