Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Hammamet
You'll be met at Tunis-Carthage International Airport and driven to your hotel in Hammamet. The afternoon is yours to settle in and relax at the hotel or take a walk around the area if you'd like. Dinner happens at the hotel in the evening.

Hammamet to Kairouan to Tozeur
After breakfast, a driver picks you up around 8 am to head to Kairouan. You'll walk through the old Medina with a guide and see the Great Mosque of Kairouan, which was built back in 670 AD. From there, check out the Aghlabid basins, an ancient site with water storage systems that show some impressive engineering. The route continues south to Gafsa for lunch, and you'll arrive in Tozeur, known as the city of palm trees, around 6 pm.

Tozeur to Douz
After breakfast, you have free time to relax at the hotel. Later in the day, you'll travel across Chott el Djerid, which is the country's largest salt lake where the white and pink mirages can look otherworldly (it's actually where some Star Wars scenes were filmed). By evening you'll reach Douz, the gateway to the Sahara, where you can spend time on optional activities like camel rides if that interests you.

Douz to Matmata to Djerba
Starting around 8 am, you'll head to Matmata to see traditional troglodyte houses dug into the earth by Berbers, and visit a Star Wars filming location. Then it's on to the Island of Dreams, which is Djerba, for lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, you'll explore Houmt Souk's downtown area with its colorful souks and check out the Djerba Hood street art district. You'll reach your hotel around 6 pm.

Djerba
After breakfast, you're ready around 8 am to explore Djerba's Jewish heritage in the village of Erriadh. You'll visit the Synagogue of El Ghriba, which has colorful windows and tiles inside. Next, head to Guellala, where pottery-making has been a tradition for centuries on the island. You'll return to your resort around 6 pm for dinner.

Djerba to El Djem to Sousse
After breakfast around 8 am, you'll go to El Djem to see the Roman amphitheatre, the second-largest one in the Roman world built about 18 centuries ago and still in great condition. Lunch happens at a local restaurant in El Djem. Later you can walk through Port El Kantaoui leisure harbor to pick up souvenirs and try some Tunisian coffee or fresh juice. Check in to your Sousse hotel around 6 pm.

After breakfast, you'll transfer around 8 am to Sidi Bou Said, a village known for its white buildings and indigo blue windows overlooking the Mediterranean. You'll explore Carthage, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with archaeological digs and an amphitheatre. Lunch is at a local restaurant, then you'll visit the Bardo National Museum, which is set in an old castle and has an impressive mosaic collection. Before checking into your Gammarth hotel around 6 pm, you'll have some free time to wander through the ancient Medina of Tunis.
