Taipei to Taichung
Start in Taipei and travel down the west coast to see buildings from the Japanese colonial period. You'll stop in Miaoli to learn how to make Hakka pound tea, then continue to Taichung where you can check out the opera house and have dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Taichung to Chiayi
After breakfast at your hotel, head to a city known for its food culture. There you'll see how soy sauce gets made using traditional methods, walk through the National Palace Museum's Southern branch to experience over 5,000 years of Chinese art and history, and finish by eating at a traditional night market.

Travel to Alishan National Park to pick tea at a local farm with great views over the area. Next you'll walk through the old market street in Fenqihu for snacks and a traditional lunch, then hike through the forests to take in the mountain scenery.

Alishan to Kaohsiung
Start early to catch the Alishan Forest Railway and see the famous 'sea of clouds' at dawn, then grab breakfast at the hotel. From there, explore the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas and visit the world's largest bronze Buddha statue at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Center. The day wraps up with a boat tour on Kaohsiung's Love River.

Spend the morning at a tea factory tasting Sun Moon Lake's black tea while learning about how tea is grown and processed in the region. Later, sip coffee at a mountain coffee shop with nice views of the Nantou hillside, then travel back to Taipei.
