Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo
You'll arrive in Colombo and your driver will meet you for the transfer to your hotel. Once you've settled in, there's time to check out the main sights around the city. The clock tower is right in the heart of things, and Pettah bazaar gives you a real feel for local commerce and culture. You'll see a Hindu Buddhist temple and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, which is quite an impressive structure. Later in the day, take a walk along Galle Face green by the water where locals hang out and relax.

- Day 2
Colombo to Sigiriya
After breakfast, you're heading to Sigiriya with a stop at Dambulla Cave Temple on the way. This World Heritage Site has cave temples carved right into the rock in the central part of the country. The Golden Temple name comes from the gold that covers some of the structures inside. From there, continue on to your hotel in Sigiriya and settle in for the night.

- Day 3
Sigiriya to Kandy
Early on you'll tackle the 1,200 steps up Sigiriya Rock. There are platforms built in for rest breaks, and the views improve as you go higher. After climbing, head to a village for a tour that includes an oxen cart ride and a traditional catamaran safari. You'll watch a cooking demonstration of Sri Lankan food and then have lunch with the locals. Later, drive toward Kandy and stop at a spice garden to learn about the herbs and spices grown here. By evening, you'll visit the Temple of the Tooth, a sacred Buddhist site within the royal palace complex, then watch a cultural dance show.

- Day 4
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, you'll spend time at Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens before heading up into the mountains. Nuwara Eliya is where you're headed next, known for the green tea plantations that cover the hillsides around it. On the way, stop at Ramboda Waterfall. Once in Nuwara Eliya, check out one of the famous tea factories where you can see how they process the leaves and pick up some high-quality tea to take home.

- Day 5
Nuwara Eliya to Yala National Park
You'll head toward Yala National Park with stops in Ella city to see the area, and then view Ravana Waterfall along the route. Once you reach Yala, a safari takes you through the park where you'll see wildlife in their natural habitat. This is one of the best spots in the country to encounter animals like leopards, elephants, and various bird species if you're lucky with timing.

- Day 6
Yala National Park to Galle
Travel to Galle on the coast with several stops along the way. You'll see Coconut Tree Hill, visit a turtle hatchery to learn about conservation efforts, and watch stilt fishermen at work on the water. If you're interested, the Dutch and English Church and Lighthouse are optional stops. The day ends with relaxation on one of the nice beaches in the area, where the sand and water are appealing for swimming or just unwinding.

Galle to Colombo
After you check out of your hotel, your driver will take you to Colombo Airport or another central location in Colombo for your flight home.
