Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cochin to Munnar

    You'll arrive at Cochin Airport and get picked up by a private car for the drive to Munnar. The ride takes you through the Western Ghats, and you'll see tea and coffee plantations covering the hillsides as you climb higher. Once you check in at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to wander around the hill station and get oriented to the area.

  2. Day 2

    Munnar to Thekkady

    After breakfast, you're heading to Thekkady, which sits at about 1000 meters elevation. It's a scenic drive, and once you arrive and check in, the afternoon takes you to the Spice Garden. There you'll walk through plantations of cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, clove, vanilla, and ginger, mixed in with tea and coffee estates. Thekkady produces most of India's pepper supply, so you're seeing something pretty significant.

  3. Day 3

    Thekkady

    This one starts early, before sunrise. You'll be on a boat moving through Periyar Tiger Reserve, watching for tigers, panthers, leopards, bison, spotted deer, and wild elephants. There are plenty of birds around too. After you head back and have breakfast, the afternoon is free time to explore the hill station at your own pace.

  4. Day 4

    Thekkady to Kumarakom

    You'll drive from Thekkady to Kumarakom village after breakfast, heading toward the Vembanad Lake backwaters. First, you're visiting the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary to spot cuckoos and Siberian storks. Then you check out the Bay Island Driftwood Museum, which has a collection of wooden sculptures. Later, you'll go to Pathiramanal Island to see rare migratory birds that pass through the area.

    Marari to Cochin

    You'll drive to Cochin after breakfast. The morning takes you through the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, and St. Francis Church, which has been standing since 1503. You'll also see the famous Chinese fishing nets along the waterfront. In the afternoon, there's a Kathakali performance, which is Kerala's traditional dance form featuring intricate footwork and expressive hand movements.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
