Itinerary
- Day 1
Windhoek to Etosha National Park
Your guide picks you up at Windhoek Airport or your accommodation and drives toward Etosha National Park. Along the way, you'll stop at the craft market in Okahandja to browse local work. If timing allows, you might get out on safari in the afternoon before settling in. By evening, you'll sit down with your guide to go over what's coming up on the trip.

Etosha National Park
After breakfast, you spend the entire day watching wildlife throughout Etosha Animal Park. Springboks and zebras are common sightings, though you might also catch the black-faced impala and dik-diks. The waterholes pull animals together in interesting ways, and if luck's on your side, leopards or hunting lionesses show up. Lunch break happens mid-day, then you continue exploring the park's water points with your guide into the afternoon.

Etosha National Park to Damara Mopane Lodge
Following breakfast, you head to a Himba Village to learn about this indigenous nomadic pastoral tribe living in Kunene region. The roughly 50,000 Himba people in northern Namibia maintain distinct traditions and ways of life that you'll see firsthand. Bringing gifts for the community is a thoughtful idea and helps with the cultural exchange. You'll get a real sense of how they live and what matters most to them.

Twyfelfontein
After breakfast, you travel to Twyfelfontein to see one of Africa's largest collections of ancient rock engravings. The carvings show rhinos, elephants, ostriches, giraffes, and various footprints from humans and animals. You'll also visit Burnt Mountain and the Basaltic Organ Pipe formations in the area. Lunch is included, then the afternoon is yours to relax and soak everything in.

Twyfelfontein to Swakopmund
Today you head south toward Swakopmund, passing through Uis, a small mining village. Before reaching it, you'll see Brandberg, Namibia's highest peak, rising dramatically from the landscape. Swakopmund sits right on the coast, bordered by dunes and cooled by the Benguela Current, making seaside walks really pleasant. The town has colonial-era buildings worth seeing, including the lighthouse, the Mole sea wall, and the historic railway station.

Walvis Bay
You leave early from Swakopmund for Walvis Bay, Namibia's main port, where you board a catamaran for a lagoon cruise. The boat carries about 25 people maximum and you'll search for dolphins, sea lions, pelicans, and cormorants, plus possibly the rare Mola-Mola fish. Lunch happens on board while you're out on the water. Back in Swakopmund by afternoon, you have free time to walk around the city or do some shopping.

Swakopmund to Namib Naukluft Park
After breakfast, you head south toward Naukluft Park, crossing the Kuiseb Pass and the Tropic of Capricorn line along the way. A quick stop in Solitaire lets you grab photos and refreshments. You'll drive through the Namib, one of the oldest and driest deserts around, which covers over 15 percent of Namibia. The dunes here have been building for millions of years through continuous sand accumulation.

Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon
After breakfast, you explore the famous Sossusvlei area with its striking dunes and desert landscapes. Dune 45 and Sossusvlei are the main spots, and you'll also visit Deadvlei where the dunes rise more than 375 meters above the Tsauchab River. Some of the highest dunes in the world sit here. After lunch, you'll head to Sesriem Canyon. The afternoon might include optional aerial activities if that interests you.

Aus
You travel from Sossusvlei toward Aus on the D707 road, which offers wide open panoramic views across the landscape. Aus is where wild horses live and marks the entrance to the old Spergebiet diamond area. If weather cooperates, you'll get a chance to see the wild horses in their habitat. The town sits positioned between Fish River Canyon and Sossusvlei, making it a natural stop on the route.

Fish River Canyon
Today you drive to Fish River Canyon, one of the world's largest canyons and a geological wonder second only to Colorado's. The Fish River is Namibia's biggest river, running 650 kilometers from the Naukluft Mountains down to the Orange River on the South African border. It flows January through April, becomes small by June, and forms isolated basins the rest of the year. The 300-million-year-old rocks create a powerful sight.

Kalahari Desert
After breakfast, you drive toward the Kalahari Desert, the last stronghold of the San people. Before diving into the Kalahari, you'll stop at the Quiver Trees near Keetmanshoop for a quick look. The Kalahari has red sand under fine golden grasses, with acacias scattered throughout and wildlife roaming the landscape. In the afternoon, you take a scenic drive through and watch the sunset with refreshments while soaking in the quiet and space.

Windhoek
On your final day, you depart for Windhoek, arriving in late morning or early afternoon. Time allows you to walk around the city with your guide or head to the shops before you leave. Your guide will appreciate any feedback about how the tour went and what you thought of the experience.
