Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll arrive in Kathmandu and head to your hotel in Thamel, the main tourist district. After checking in, the rest of the day is yours to wander around the neighborhood at your own pace. It's a good chance to get your bearings, grab some food, and settle in before things get going.

Landmarks Thamel District - Day 2
Kathmandu to Pokhara
Early morning departure on a tourist bus for the roughly 8-hour drive to Pokhara. The route takes you through green hills, valleys, and mountain scenery. Along the way you'll catch views of Phewa Lake and the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Pokhara itself is known for its mix of natural sites and cultural attractions. Check into your hotel in the evening after the long drive.

Pokhara to Tikhedhunga
Drive to Nayapul, then start your trek. The trail goes through Birethanti village and continues to Tikhedhunga over about four and a half hours. This first day gets you into the rhythm of trekking before you reach your tea house lodge for the night.

- Day 4
Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
Trek uphill from Tikhedhunga toward Ghorepani, passing through Ulleri and the villages of Banthanti and Magar. As you climb, you'll see Machhapuchhre, Huinchuli, and Annapurna South coming into view. The elevation gain is noticeable but the scenery makes it worthwhile. Sleep at a tea house lodge in Ghorepani.

- Day 5
Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani
Start before dawn to reach Poon Hill and watch the sunrise light up Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna I, and other snowcapped peaks. After breakfast back in Ghorepani, trek through thick forests of rhododendrons, bamboo, and oaks. Along the way you might spot waterfalls, wildlife, and birds. The route to Tadapani takes about five and a half hours. Rest at your tea house lodge.

Tadapani to Ghandruk
This is your easiest trekking day. Walk through rhododendron and oak forests on your way to Ghandruk, a large Gurung village and UNESCO site. Bird watchers particularly like this section because of the calls you hear along the trail. In Ghandruk, check out the handicraft center and the Gurung museum to learn about how people live here. Later in the evening, there's a traditional Gurung cultural program. Stay at a tea house lodge.

Ghandruk to Nayapul to Pokhara
Trek downhill from Ghandruk, passing through Pothana village on your way back to Nayapul. From there, drive to Pokhara for the evening. After several days on the trail, you'll appreciate the chance to relax at your hotel.

Landmarks Pothana Nayapul - Day 8
Pokhara to Kathmandu
Seven-hour drive from Pokhara back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. The route goes through Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar. If you're interested, there's an option to visit Manakamana Temple using Nepal's first cable car system. Otherwise, you can skip that and continue straight through. Alternatively, fly instead if you prefer. Check in to your hotel for your final night.

Kathmandu Departure
After breakfast, you have free time to do last-minute shopping or just rest. In the afternoon, a private vehicle takes you to Kathmandu Airport for your departure. Your final evening includes a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant with live music and cultural dance performances.
