Long stages to the individual destinations but really worth it. The accommodation is great and Giang, our tour guide, was incredibly friendly, helpful and funny. He picked us up at our hotel early in the morning and took us to the bus. The first adventure was the bus ride itself, as the traffic in Vietnam is very different to that in Germany. The bus was modern, clean and air-conditioned, which was a blessing in temperatures of 36 degrees. There was plenty of water and the meals were all super tasty and so much that you could hardly manage to finish them. The tour to the waterfall on the second day was a bit lengthy as the water of the waterfall is dammed up on the Chinese side and no water is released before 11 am. We were there from 10:30 and had to wait an hour for the water. That wasn't so great in the scorching heat. All in all, however, it was a great tour, especially at the beginning of a trip to Vietnam, as you can discover the culture and some of the habits of the locals in a guided way and no longer feel quite as lost as before the tour.

Long car rides but the homestays were worth it. Tour guide was attentive without being overbeing and extremely friendly. Was proactive and took car of everything without asking.

    Asked on April 24th, 2024

Can I book just one and be added to a bigger group for one of the trips around May 29th? If so, how much would that cost? If you only do groups, do you have a recommendation on hiking in Sa Pa?

Regarding your request, I would like to recommend you the tour Fansipan Mountain Trekking 2 days 1 night. The price is $207/adult. This is a land tour so the price does not include transportation from Hanoi to Sapa. Currently, we do not have any guest groups on May 29. You can pay an additional 39 USD to do a private tour with just you.

    Asked on September 11th, 2023

I'm looking at the Fansipan Mountain Trekking 2 days 1 night trip. But it seems to me that it requires 3 nights, as 2 of them are overnight on the train. So I'm a bit confused. If I begin on Tuesday 19th December, then it's overnight on the train. The hike begins on Wednesday 20th, with a night in a tent. Then there is an overnight train back to Hanoi on Thursday, so I won't get back until Friday 22nd. Is that correct?

I plan to book this at the beginning of next month, when I get paid. I do need to clarify two points, please: 1. The price quoted (166 GBP) includes train travel. Is this for a sleeper carriage, or for a seat, please? 2. The reply mentioned that I can make my own way to Sapa. If I do this, what is the cost of the tour.

    • Mr Linh's AdventuresOperatorWritten September 2023

For your information, the price 207 USD includes the transportation from Hanoi to Sapa. However, you will travel by sleeper bus, not by train because the train will only go to the train station quite far from Fansipan, which is not convenient. This price applies to departures from Hanoi at 10:00 PM and from Sapa at 4:00PM. If you move to Sapa yourself, the price is 144 USD.

      TravelerWritten September 2023

I am getting more and more confused. It looks like a lot of the information provided about this tour is totally incorrect, which is giving me less and less confidence in booking. The information on TourRadar 100% says train. And it does not say 10pm either. I'm not comfortable with booking when there is so much contradictory information being provided.

    • Mr Linh's AdventuresOperatorWritten September 2023

We have had this tour program for a long time. According to the original plan, we will let guests take the train. From Sapa train station to Fansipan it will take 50km (more than 1 hour of travel). That takes time and adds extra travel distance (especially for solo travelers like you). Therefore, after upgrading and improving the program, we changed it to let guests take sleeping buses (with private cabins) to travel directly to Fansipan.

I'm happy to book in advance - once the information accurately reflects what I am getting. Currently, they advertise a train departing at 20:30, and a hotel stay whilst up the hill. I need to know that correct time of departure, and time (and date) of return to Hanoi.
